Fae Plane
This plane is known for being a place of pure whimsy. Every season exists on this plane sometimes at once. This plane is originally believed to have existed as a palette for the creator to draw The Universe though things slowly changed.
A powerful being known by the title of The Caprice who helped bring some form and order to the plane. Though just like the Caprice themself the plane only ended up more strange and disjointed after they meddled. Traveling on the fae plane can lead to things not working as assumed. Such as heading west requires you to first go up a flowing waterfall on a sky island and then jump into the rainbow at the top which will teleport you there. Time is not a thing on this plane either as it can flow forward and backward at nearly any time. Which can cause creatures to see events from a millennia ago or a millennium from now.
The beings from there completely understand the random rules located on the plane. The creatures from this plane are known as fae. They are embodiments of whimsy, jovialness, callousness, flirtation, and mischievousness. Any fae you meet can harm a mortal due to them not needing to worry about death. When a fae dies in the fae plane they lose their previous beliefs and memory but their spirit reincarnates on the plane. If a fae dies outside of the plane they lose all memories of where they were and all power gained while there. If fae is born outside of the plane they will still return to the plane upon death but as what is known as a light. Up close they are closer to nearly unseeable flying fur with wings. Each one though glows in a unique color based on the soul within. These lights can come together and create a new fae sometimes they even enter newborn fae children. This is believed to be why fae seem to change in mood at random sometimes due to being made up of various beings inhibiting one body simultaneously.
The scary thing for mortals dealing with fae is that fae games can be horrifying and have disturbing consequences on mortals. Such as tag fae tends to evolve actively removing a portion of the person being tagged usually a finger but sometimes a limb. This is because it is fairly easy for fae beings to regrow limbs for fae beings native to the plane.
There are a few courts on the fae plane with different powerful rulers in charge. Each one represents one of the common traits of the plane. The courts are the Callous Court, the Coquertry Court, The Jovial Court, The Vexatious Court, and the Whimsy Court.
The Callous Court This court is filled with vengeful fae. The being in charge of this court is Caius, The Heartless. Those apart of the court enjoy harming fae but even more so enjoy harming creatures. The members of this court are the most likely to make deals with mortals with the intention of punishing them and taking something from them. Usually they will pretend to be a member of a different court or unaligned to trick the mortal. There are many rules in this court but all of them pertain to how these fae should treat each other and no laws exist about how they should treat other fae or mortals.
The Coquertry Court This court is made up of flirtatious fae. The being in charge of this court is Yaretzi, the Debaucher who is known as the ultimate flirt. These fae are known to give gifts to each other and to mortals. These gifts always have strings attached usually the best way is to give something of equal value, as giving a gift of greater value will lead typically to gifts of escalating value. These gifts can get as extreme as gifting human babies to each other. The real danger though can be failing to provide a gift as love can easily turn to hate for these fae. Leading to them deciding to punish you for rebuking them. These punishments are usually not to bad for other fae as the consequences are not to bad for them but for mortals can be severe. Such as removing the ability for them to speak for 40 years which is nothing for most fae but can be the rest of a mortals life, or removing a limb which for a fae is nothing as they can be regrown.
The Jovial Court This court is made up of mostly kind fae. This court is ruled by Pam, The Reveler. They tend to avoid fighting to the best of there ability and try to bring laughter and joy to all around them. Sometimes they can go to far and cause harm due to stunt comedy being popular but they may rope in people who were not apart of it. These routines can be very simple such as just falling or having pies thrown to what is known as the stabbing joke where to fae stab each other and laugh ignoring the pain. The true issue with this game is when a mortal unfortunately becomes a participant in the game and gets injured sometimes fatally.
The Vexatious Court This court is made up of mischievous fae. The court is ruled by Kurson, The Knave. They are what most mortals think of when they think of trickster fae. There tricks are usually simple like moving items around the house. Though they can get a bit more extreme like causing someones house to become a maze involving a bunch of traps. These are not usually physically harmful but the joke can be taken so far some people have died from being terrified about what was happening.
The Whimsy Court. This is the court most creatures think of when it comes to the fae. The term court is very loose due to it being ruled by The Caprice. Rules are barely a thing in this court and it's essentially a free-for-all all. Rules barely exist here yet breaking them tends to have harsher punishments than the Callous Court. Overall this court is known for being a confused mixture of the other courts.
