Jivitur

(a.k.a. Steed of Want, Ever-thirsting, Famine, Empty Pit)

Jivitur is the old god of hunger, famine, and gluttony in the Salchyreon.

Tenets of Faith

Followers of Jivitur make animal and human sacrifices in order to please the dark god and keep the god from destroying their harvest. They also engage in wanton consumption without regard for the environment they're destroying or the limited resources they're consuming, believing self-interest and satisfaction are the highest ideal.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Jivitur appears as an androgynous, emaciated, naked antelope-headed figure sitting astride an equally gaunt black horse. Its black leathery skin sags off its bones, looking much like an overweight creature that recently lost a great deal of weight, though the skin itself is cracked like dry mud that constantly flakes off its body. These flaked skin particles form a cloud of dust that constantly surrounds Jivitur and its steed wherever they appear. A large, curved yoke straddles its shoulders, each end connected via dark black chains to two braziers that dangle and sway as it moves, each container emitting a plume of smoke from the food cooking within. The god always smells of both the best and worst food one has ever eaten. Two long, curved black horns rise from the back of its head which is always leaning forward, giving the god a hunchback appearance.
