The Defenders of the West
The Golden Serpents were created by the Divine Sun, thousands of years ago, during the beginning of the Wars Between Blood, in which the Divine Sun, the defender god of the Sun, and the Thunderspear, the war god of the Thunder and Fire, fought viciously over the small fertile lands of the Western Coast. On the edge of the Sand Dunes, the Western Coast, home to the Basluian, is one of the few fertile lands in a larger territory of the Sand Dunes (refered to by the Basluian as Fawluto and by those within the desert itself under many different names). The Divine Sun created them to protect the Basluian from incursion and seiges from the other people of the Sand Dunes. To this day the Golden Serpents still stand, waiting to defend the West from whatever threatens them.
The Jeweled Treasures
The Golden Serpents are creatures that certainly catch anyone's eye. With thick, golden scales up and down their serpentile body, looking much like armor of gold, large ivory horns, like an antelope swooping off their long flat faces and smaller jutting horns of gold just above sparkling fire opals of eyes, the Golden Serpents are a sight to behold. They represent the physical incarnation of the luxury of the gods and the rich gifts the gods bestow upon the people.
