Tea with Aeon. Report

General Summary

  • Graz asks Aeon about: Archmage, Archbishop, and Sir Andrejus. Asks who is the person behind the scenes pulling all the strings? What was he discussing with the Archbishop before the party entered the office? What is his stance on war?
  • Aeon snorts with ill humour at Graz’s questions. “Allow me to answer your questions in the order they were asked before your mouth runs away with you. The Archmage is a wise man who is out of his depths. He is so focussed on the esoteric matters of the weave he fails to see the dangers around him. The Archbishop is a wise and noble fool who fails to see that Torm preaches action as well as forbearance. We should stay our hands from harming the innocent, but we must recognise when an evil must be excised from this world. Sir Andrejus? Well, that’s a name for the ages. A fearsome warrior, compassionate and just member of Torm’s church, hero of too many battles to count. And bloody mystery to boot. We trained together. Served together. He was a rising star. Someone the rest of us looked up to. Emulated. He was the standard we held ourselves to. Then, one day, Who pulls the strings? Ha! Can tell you’re new round here. The King rules Akrose and all her might. Some say Queen Verette is the true power. But that weasel bastard Yvain is the one in charge. The King sees trouble all around except where it is, and that blackguard is the one dripping poison in his ear. If I had proof, I’d have had him brought in for questioning. But he’s always hanging around in the background when something important is happening. Me and the Archbishop were discussing matters of state. The Abbot had overreached. I felt it warranted a visit from the Inquisition. To set them back on the path of Torm. His Excellency felt that the Abbot was earnest and should be given free reign over his part of the church. I’m sad to hear of his passing, but hopeful it will draw a line under this nonsense. And war? Girl, I’ve seen more blood than any man should. War can be righteous. It can be just. But I’ve yet to see it be good. No. War should be a last resort.” [Like with this refugee business. After Eastwatch fell, it was suggested we offer aid to the counterattack. We didn’t and many lives were lost. ]He slaps his knees. “Right. We should be off.” he stands. “What do I call you?”
  • Renato gave Andrejus the Crown of the Timeless.
  • Returning to the city, you see that the sky to the South East is black. Not dark like a storm. Black. Like the night sky.
  • Dworc demanded a map of the world from the ship crew. Shilvass brought the trade routes map from the Mau. Sir Andrejus identified it as a pre-Sundering map. Identified Drake’s Rest and Imica. Roscoe filled in about the Sho-sei glass trade and arcanite mines.
  • Spoke to Aeon about Yvain. Were told to make sure before making any overt actions as the King may react badly to his trusted advisor being accused of treason.
