Arcanite

Scholars hold that Arcanite is the crystalised remnants of the chaos and power unleashed during the Sundering, subjected to high pressure and temperature underground. Deposits of Arcanite are extremely rare, found only where the magical devastation was greatest. The Shosei Empire mine the crystals to power their great machines and magical tools.
Arcanite can be crushed into powder and, if subjected to the correct treatments, ingested. This leads to a feeling of euphoria and confidence in the subject, but can have severe side effects.

Utility

Fuel and power for magical contraptions, vehicles, tools, and weapons.

Access & Availability

Powdered arcanite can be found in several places in Drake's Rest where it is known by the street name Havok. Crystalised arcanite is much harder to find and at present is believed to only be readily available in the Shosei Empire.
