Fuzznut

A standby resource for every Town healer and druid of Dioya, the Fuzznut is a tough vined nut baring plant that can be found in the forests of Dioya. Though most commonly found in the North west of the Clansplains, Fuzznut is a highly resilient plant that can make its home in most environments where plants grow. Fuzznut vines are so tough, druids have been known to tie them into woven chords and use them as rope.
The fruit produced by the Fuzznut is what produces the plants namesake. After a cream colored flower that reaches the size of a daisy grows and wilts, a tough, chestnut-like shell grows. This shell is quite hard and when polished, gives off a beautiful shine. The Fuzznut shell is a common material used for many Druids prayer beads and necklaces.
Within the plant’s shell grows the Fuzznut, a creamy green colored interior nut with a bitter, but rich taste raw. The Fuzznut’s texture in the mouth is smooth, but it numbs any flesh it touches, triggering the nerves to feel as if it is chewing on something fuzzy. This fuzziness goes from the physical to the mental as the chemical effects of the nut can have mellowing and calming effects on the brain of whomever ingests it, causing sluggish breathing, lowered heart rate, and even unconsciousness.

Fuzznut is commonly used as a sedative for people who suffer from lingering pains. It is used to put patients asleep and even to induce a daze-like coma for surgeries. Fuzznut is dangerous if not ingested properly, overdosing on Fuzznut to the point of slowing the heart to near stoppage is not uncommon. Fuzznut can be made into both potions and poisons, with some of the most talented alchemists able to create a deadly potion from concentrated extract of the nut.
