Chapter 9: The Crying Chapter

General Summary

In the crowded marketplace, Ky-uul has his stuff stolen.   Chase (Dext)     The child who stole the bag disappears between grate-vines by turning into mist.     PEARLMYRE SEWARS:     Curious fungus grows from the mixture of waste and flora.   Footsteps on the ground if Percp check.   Small ones lead forwards:   "Your extension, you pray that lives when you die,   That changes grows distant like its name in the sky   Not a seed nor a sponge and yet it still grows   Speak title clearly and then you may all go"   Sphinx:   HP: 135   AC: 17   ATK: 2d8   Dispel Magic   Illusion: "From the Shadows, A Lich appears, 8 feet tall carrying an ebony greatsword."     Past the Sphinx, motes of light appear down the hallway, illuminating rudimentary drawings.   They look like they are finger painted   Many of them depict the mask that you all keep seeing.   One shows a figure dressed in white wearing the mask standing on massive golden corpses     Then, the hallways open up and you reach the center of the Myretree, the lights around the room illuminate brighter to reveal many children of all sorts of builds and races in a crowd, dead silent. They all wear masks that try to replicate THE mask, but always with some sort of flaws. The crowd of the staring children opens up in the center to lead up to a throne of vines, in the center, lit faintly is a young elf who wears half of a familiarly colored cloak wrapped just to hand from his waist below. He has the split mask that Uul took from the School of illusion pressed up to his face. The mask fits perfectly despite getting cut off at the top right revealing a single glowing, milky white eye.   " I had a premonition that I would see my mask again, but for it to be brought to me by you, I did not anticipate."   "These children have all been displaced by the Great Disturbance. One second their families are there, in another they are gone. I have recruited these Orphans or cast-outs as parts of Aartrops' plan.     "When the sight was given to me it was chaos. Emotions. Violent suffering and unruly passion exploding in my head. I couldn't survive. Then a vision, this mask. To clear my vision. It was a way for Aartrops to better use me.   I can feel your anger, your dedication, your confusion. I can feel everything you feel and I know why you feel it. When you arrived in Pearlmyre I sensed a group of different emotions, different feelings than normal. But one of you is even more different. Like me.     "One among you, he is cursed with visions as well, isnt he. With your permission, I wish to summon him."   Adhach focuses and his eyes go white before Fenris appears in front of them.   "Aartrops is speaking to both of us, but something is wrong. When the gods speak to their subjects they do so with clearity,I believe that what we suffer from are not just curses, but messages from Aartrops that are so powerful, they result in an everlasting and unfocused result."   "I cannot control the power that grows in me. As I have sight, my magical abilities have awoken too and my body cannot contain the growth. I need to be wiser, fast, else my abilities will overwhelm me and I."   Adhach asks Sycamore   "We are just two pieces of a puzzle. I see the intentions of the gods and of forces unseen and you see the results, every timeline, every possibility with no exact details as to why they happen. Seperate we suffer...but together I believe we can understand what our god is trying to tell us. I believe we must become more. I knew my mask would come back to me, but for it to bring me you, Aartrops works in amazing ways. Please.   When Sycamore touches Fenric there is chaos, but from his touch, a small bit of stability as, he sees Fenric's whole life, including his time spent with Sycamore and his mom.   Sycamore asks for Adhach's mask to ask Fenric and he obliges, allowing Sycamore to place the mask on Fenric.   Adhach is held on to by Uul, Ryuk, and Budrash, all becoming overwhelmed with emotion.   Fenric returns for a moment when the mask is put on him, he asks for it all to end.     Adhach stands and faces Fenric, the children begin chanting a prayer to Galaxa. Fenric's eyes go fully white as does the uncovered eye of Adhach as the chanting gets louder and louder. Then, faintly, the chanting stops and Fenric and Adhach radiate golden light. Adhach extends a hand, Fenric extends the other. When they touch there is a FLASH of bright light and when you open your eyes:     There stands a slender, blue skin and thin furred humanoid with leaf tattoos all along his right arm leading up to an ornate face tattoo that spans the entire size and design of Adhach's mask. The person has long, blue hair, pointed blue ears and a small Firebolg nose. His right eye is black, his left eye is white.   He goes by Adric   "Now that we are one, I can see all possibilities and know why they happen, but in these visions, things are just shadows. and thus, it's still hard to truly see these visions clearly. But in a joined body I am no longer bombarded by vicious imagery and the emotions of billions of people. I feel much more...at peace. And I thank you.   "What is coming is both divine, and mortal. Not with the intention to conquer, but to destroy. Punishment."   And then he sees something horrible.   "In the coming times.... The sky will grow dark and....a god will die."   "Though things are still confusing, I know what I must do. Come tomorrow I will reveal myself as the missing Glynwraek and convince the Council of 3 to pledge allegiance between Gaia and Merydia.”   They may return to sleep at Qilee's     THE COURTROOM:   Adric arrives at the courthouse with rows of the children, now dressed in cloaks.   People crowd around them, gawking at the spectacle.   Illiar and Leojor talk to Adric, trying to get him to leave. Illiar sees the kings and gets them over.     In the courtroom, the Council of Three enters the room, total silence befalls on the crowd.     The Deva councilwoman (Emih) is gone.   "Ok 'Kings of Leon" before I make my decision, would you mind telling me who you've brought to me?"   Adris shows the tattoo to his mother and when they touch, the ink glows.   "Mother, Pearlmyre and Merydia is in grave danger. with the sight given to me by Galaxa I can not only see the genocide of the elves and all other mortal races, but I can feel their pain echo through time and reality. If our family is to protect our kind, we must fight the upcoming threat."   The Glenspire family votes for joining the alliance with Midvail.   "With my family's vote, the council of three has officially voted to join with Midvail in the event that a threat comes to the saftey of mortal races. Let us pray that this allience never needs to be called upon."   Many in the courtroom cheer, many leave angry.   PERCEPTION CHECK: +10 Heakril of The Aiwenor looks pale. His wife is not going to like this.   Tolthe and Adris walk the Kings outside.   Tolthe states that he will be the attending representative of Merydia at the summit in Hearthsfield.   Adric tells the Kings that he cannot join them from now on, but that their paths with cross again.   He gifts Sycamore Fenric's gloves, imbuing them with the infinite visions of death. Fenric told Adric to do this so Fenric knew that he was proud of him.   The Gloves of Desasterous Fate:   2d12 Psychic Damage and chance of prone if spellcaster skill is above a wisdom check.     Adris offers to teleport the Kings of Leon to Korrvigsguard despite him having never been there. He can use his sight and get a semi-familiarity to it.   Or they can travel all the way back the other way, or they can travel east to Morcalen and grab a ship there.     -50: NoKingsLand   51-89: Sthimeisku   +90: Korrvigsguard       IF they choose to teleport, they all must get into the carriage and if they look out they see lights flashing, suddenly feel the carriage jerk and they appear outside of the CRYING BANDIT.   The tavern exists and is til by torches, but literally everywhere else is completely dark.   PERCEPTION:   Inside the bar are a bunch of elves talking with each other at a table.   A Hobgoblin and a Dwarf with a stain on his shirt talk.   Inside is a bartender, this time a Hobgoblin named Vo-Alod   If Uul history checks well enough he remembers of an old old priest named Alod. He will pretty much naturally remember the Vo title as a priest though.   "Well well well, a pleasure to finally meet you. Congratulations on allying Midvail and Myridia, really impressive. Can I get you anything to drink?"   "Oh I just decided to grab you guys to tell you to hurry up. At the rate you are going, it's gonna be too late. But! But. And this is super exciting. You guys are the first of all of them to get this far. I mean literally of the millions of people, you guys are the only ones who have managed to convince the elves. Very impressive. So from here on out, we'll be watching closely."     IF THEY TRY TO FIGHT:   VO-ALOD:   HP: 200   AC: 10   Ancient Hobgoblin hand to hand: 2d6 He banishes on hit.   Spells:   Crown of stars: 4d12       NOKINGSLAND:     The Kings of Leon arrive in the middle of a ransacked city, now occupied by hundreds of Goblins, Orcs, Humans, Lizardfolk, and Dwarves.   The soldiers all armed with poor weaponry flank the carriage.   In the center, is the Goliath MAN-FUCKER who wears a necklace of severed heads and carries around the AXE OF NOBLE'S BAIN.   Man-Fucker's right hand man is a Halfling, Gohace a cleric.     IF FIGHT:   10 NoKingsLand Soldiers AKA The Boys   HP: 15   AC: 12   ATK: 1d6     MAN-FUCKER   HP: 100   AC: 10   ATK: 2d10   Spells:   Stone Skin (Negate Attack)     GOHACE:   HP: 35   AC: 17   Atk: 1d8   Spells:   Healing Word: 4+10   Bear's Endurance: 2d6 Temp HP   Feign Death     Man-Fucker pitches Ryuk as his father, thinking that he is with the Council of Three.   With quick thinking, Uul and Sycamore convinced KingFucker that not only were they not with Chilved, but that they stole their warcarrage and were planning on overthrowing Chilved. They call themselves the Kings of Leveling-Every-Organized-Nation   Man-Fucker instantly takes to liking to Uul. Uul convinces him that he should write a book about his life to inspire other uprisings. Gohace is suspicious of Budrash and Sycamore though.   The Kings of Leon formulate a plan to escape NoKingsLand and steal the gold they assume Man-Fucker has when he and The Boys took over Greystone. They would do this by eliminating Gohace from the picture, tricking Man-Fucker into thinking she betrayed him and then convincing him to give his weath to The Kings in order to fund a full on war effort against Chilved.   The plan goes as follows:   1. Using the letter they received from the council of 3, Ryuk forges a letter that indicates that Gohace is an agent of the Chilved who is trying to unify the races of Gaia to come down on NoKingsland.   2. Ryuk and Sycamore spread the word that there is going to be a show in Man-Fucker's longhouse that night, "Ever seen a dragon and a Spectral owl put on a concert and light show?"   3. Meanwhile, Uul approaches a distraught Man-Fucker who was just shut down by Gohace who thought his idea for an autobiography is a stupid idea. Uul capitalizes on this and deepens the now growing distance between Man-Fucker and Gohace. Uul asks if a performance by Budrash would cheer him up.   4. That night, a massive crowd gathers in Man-Fucker's longhouse. Uul sits beside Man-Fucker opposite Gohace. Ryuk positions himself in the back. Sycamore positions himself behind Gohace.   5. From the ceiling, Budrash descends with the Rope of Climbing, playing his banjo and singing so beautifully it sounds as if he was a professional opera singer. This moves the whole room to tears. While Budrash plays, Dreamweaver soars around him and shoots light from its eyes to really amplify the effect of the performance.   6. Meanwhile, as she is distracted, Sycamore reverse pick-pockets the forged document into Gohace's cloak, Ryuk leaves the longhouse and changes into the charred armor of the Fendan family and changes into Regat.   7. After the performance, Ryuk lets himself get caught by some of The Boys and brought into the longhouse.   8. Before Man-Fucker kills Ryuk, Ryuk says that he has information to give on a traitor that he saw in Chilved, accusing Gohace of betraying Man-Fucker.   9. With the help of Uul working the crowd, Man-Fucker gives the order to search Gohace, finding the letter. Man-Fucker, betrayed and enraged picks up Gohace and throws her against the wall, killing her instantly.   10. Uul consoles Man-Fucker and focuses his sights on the future, pitching the plan to use the Greystone money to fund an army to take over Chilved. Man-Fucker agrees but reveals that the money they got from the Greystone vault and redistributed it to the boys.   Soon after this, the Longhouse is attacked by Ky, lead by Ky-Voh   Of the handful of survivors of the attack, Man-fucker is still alive but not well since he is poisoned by Ky-Voh with Hobgoblin's Promise.
