Chapter 22: A Storm Comes

General Summary

Open 1 Month Later on an anchored Gale's Grace rather, a couple hundred meters away from the ship:
BUDRASH:

If success, Budrash slits a Tuna open, Okle and Odi lift up their own kills and praise him.

RYUK: Coming out of Gale's cabin, you stretch as the morning breeze blows passed you:
Roll constitution:
-15: Gale has been running you rampant. But it's her ship. At very least you're getting stronger because unlike magic, what you've been doing actually takes muscles.

Behind you, Gale passes by and heads to her post beside Meivas, but not before placing her hat on your head, not unlike a girl wearing her boyfriend's college sweatshirt.
UUL:
"Though there are more skilled swordsman on the ship, Saramir came to you for training with a Trident that he picked up from a Zomos Company Tritan.
Uul can roll to hit a few times: Fendan Blade Proficiency +1
When your blades clash, you feel the rage in Saramir boiling, his orc rage peaking out.
Saramir pulls back "Uh Uul"
Then you hear a cracking and take 2 damage. You look over to see your crystal arm. has gained a new crack. Every day more cracks appear and every day Selasi tries to mend it, but the cracks are spreading faster than she can mend.
In your distortant and many pieced relfection, you see your face, no longer hobgoblin at all.

SELASI:
Standing at the Hull of the ship, Selasi stands beside Zomos.
"Now, listen to me, Tritons, we came to the water, first we were elves, then when we split from the rest of the race, the forests became lost to us and the water became our home. For you, it's different. The water is not your home, it's your blood. The Genasi we have at home, the way they control water, it puts us to shame, now, do as I do.

This past month, you all have done the minimal fighting and actually helped work trade jobs like lugging cargo to transferal ships, you've gradually become accepted by the Terramin as one of their own.
SY: Giving Knuckledrag and Pennywhistle some grain to snack on and assuming he has overslept, Rila knocks on the War carriage to wake up Sycamore. Above, the balista has been totally removed and replaced with a shock harness, all that is needed is a canon. Sycamore does not respond and when Rila checked his room is bed is empty.
Rila goes to Budrash, Uul, then Ryuk FOUR-CHAINS:
Relaxed in the crows nest, Spotter yawns and looks around lazily. Rila calls down to him and asks if he has seen Sycamore lately. Spotter turns around to see:
Two Goats looking at him. It's Four-Chains and Kennith.
Four-Chains hops down from the Crowsnest with his shadow form, then drops down to Kennith, greeting the kings.
After Gale meets Four-Chains she claps and Luro drops a massive table in the center of the ship and everyone sits to eat.

BREAKFAST:

They say "Grace"
During breakfast they can talk to other crew members.
Zomos slowly brings up to the crew if anyone grabbed anything from his chest before it sank, looking at Uul's cloak.
Uul successfully refuses responsibility, convincing everyone, including Ryuk who believes his "best friend" Uul would never lie to him that the Primordial Elemental Egg must have been lost to the shipwreck.
If NOT he mentions that it's a shame that the primordial egg was lost.
Zomos can reveal that the Sauhgin were captured on a small island and brought in to be enslaved by the Hobgoblins, they were worshipping a Primordial Elemental Egg.

If Gale sees the Primordial Elemental Egg:
"You sexy young boys can take it. Those things, they have too much power. Unstable beings. I don't want that thing hatching on my ship."

Meivas can explain what a Primordial Elemental is:
Well mortals, you see, though the Deva were the purest and first great creatures made by the Eternals, we were not the first creatures on Diyoa, as the Infernal gods created the land, sea, air, and so on, they experimented with creating life. These are the oldest living creatures in Dioya, the primordials. The Dragons were the first beasts created by Co, The Telling Triplets were the first humanoids, created by Eppiten, and the elementals created by Aartrops. A Primordial Elemental is a being of great power but is very very unstable, not long for the world and totally liquid in its abilities. It's incredibly rare and those left to exist are still in their eggs.


CHERISH & THE DEAD SHIP
After breakfast, everyone notices that fog has rolled in.
Gale ordersSelasi to anchor up and for Meivas to sail through.
Gale tries to conjure winds, but it only pushes the fog around.
Ryuk can look through his illusion eye to see that the fog has been pushed and that the persisting fog is an illusion

then the fog gets very thick. They hear voices:
"Hello, is anyone there?"
"Get her!"
"Please help me, I'm in danger"
"We have you now!"
EVERYONE ROLLS A PERCEPTION WITH DISADVANTAGE EXCEPT SELASI WHO MAKES NORMAL AND RYUK WHO GETS ADVANTAGE.
IF 10 (Gale passes): You all see a large trading ship with corpses strewn about everywhere. Most of which are Orc and Dwarven.
15: You focus on two moving figures, a female Tiefling with only one horn tied up with rope and a large Orc with a greatsword.
"Help Help"
"Im gonna cut your head off and steal your ship"
"Not so fast"
The Tiefling casts hellish rebuke on the Orc OBLITERATING him. He and his sword seem to disappear in the blast. (IF RYUK OVER 20 IN PERCEPTION HE SEES ITS AN ILLUSION)
"Hey could you guys like, untie me please"
"This is my ship, Im a ship transporter, I bring ships to buyers who are too lazy to pick them up themselves. I hired my crew in Drishukshand but just this morning the orcs turned on us and tried to take the ship"
She looks over at all of the corpses "this is my crew, they're all dead."

Eyebite: Chains until she gets hit hard enough. Always chooses sleep.
Danse Macabre: Brings her 'crew' to life with a whistle.

Cherish is welcomed on to the ship by Ryuk, despite Gale's interjections and Cherish offers to pay everyone 200 gold if they can ferry the dead bodies of the dwarves back to shore for a proper burial.
The crew recovers all of the dwarven bodies and put them in the brig, Four-Chains turning into his shadow form and pushing off all of the Orc bodies into the water.
Not wanting to lose the potential to make more money, the Kings hatch a plan to tie the back anchor of Gale's Grace to the other ship so Cherish can also get her money for that and split it among them. Uul casts Levitate on the anchor and Four-Chains attempts to tie it to the other ship, but he accidentally breaks a chain and the anchor floats away.
Cherish makes a big deal about how this is now her ship and her crew, insinuating that the Terramin compeny is now hers, this alerts everyone as Four-Chains pulls out his bow.
Cherish says she wants to whistle them a song and whistles the incantation that casts the Danse Macabre:
Four-Chains lets loose an arrow but Cherish misty steps to the mid portion of the mast and from the barge, the dwarven corpses break through the wood paneling and start attacking the crew.
Uul immediatly casts Invisibility on Saramir and tells him to hide until the right moment.
Budrash quickly kills a zombie dwarf with his crossbow as the rest of the group engages with the undead.
Unhappy with the initial course of the battle, Cherish casts Toll of the Dead on Selasi, convincing her that today she is going to die and then hops down from the mast and engages Uul.
From the ocean, Orc zombies start to climb on to the ship.
Uul stabs Cherish in the chest and casts enlarge, triggering more emotion from Cherish who vampiric touches him. Her spell is interrupted by Saramir who lands a direct hit onto Cherish's shoulder with the trident, sacrificing his invisibility. This pisses Cherish off.
Selasi gets surrounded by undead, but carefully casts Thunder Wave with such skill and power, it blows off and explodes the heads of most of the undead Dwarves, leaving mostly the Orcs. This explosion also pulls Cherish off of Uul's blade.
Cherish casts Inflict Wounds on Saramir, knocking him prone and angrily walking towards him.
Uul rushes to Saramir's prone body, protecting him from Cherish's attacks.
Ryuk aids Gale in battle, mentioning how this is "just like old times" for some reason.
During the fight with the zombies, Okle gets killed, getting his neck snapped by an undead Orc.
Selasi casts shatter on Cherish, shattering her horn and leaving her hornless, enraging her.
When Cherish is about to die she casts negative energy flood and Undead's Okle and Selasi. Uul protects Saramir's unconcious body, taking the full hit of the attack and falling prone.
Ryuk polymorphs undead Okle into a duck.
Four-Chains hits Cherish in the back with his Heavy Crossbow, dealing a devistating enough blow that Cherish gives up, turning into fog and retreating.
Odi watches his undead brother fly away before Cherish dies.

After Charish turns into fog form and disappears, Uul regains conciousness and attempts to heal Saramir who is unresponsive but not exactly dead, focusing all of his magical energy on saving the child. Tapping into some sort of magic he had no idea he had, Uul stablizes Saramir as a fully concious undead lich and learns the spell Heroism.



SZEKLUSH THE GUARDIAN OF THE SOUTHERN SEA:

After the fog dissapates, some time passes and from below, Budrash hears a voice, if he looks over he sees a serpentine looking man standing totally still and matching pace with the ship.
"Exssscuse me"
"I formally requesssst for you to pleasssse sssslow your sssship down to a sssstop.
If they do he asks "May I have permissssion to board?"

Ryuk takes lead again, saying he is the captain of the ship.
He raises from the water on the head of a MASSIVE sea snake and steps off, the snake Towers over the ship.
Gale pats Ryuk's back and tells him to take control.
I am Ssszeklush, the guardian of the ssssouth ocean. What brings you to the clanssssplains."
Szeklush and the Snake are the same entity, Szeklush is just the speaker.
Szeklush is a Primordial with links to Barthos.
Szeklush mentions that GROLOVACRI has been brought from a world parallel to this one by the Sauhgin and that the very fabric of reality in the southern sea has been tampered with. They need to kill GROLOVACRI or things may get messy. Crossing over of realities never breeds good results.
"The longer GROLOVACRI is in the realm, the stronger his grip is, the stronger he becomes."
He parts and says "Your ship has been marked with his blood. I'd congratulate you for making the foreign god bleed, but it is a mark of death. Beware the glowing waters."

In anticipation of GROLOVACRI attacking, Ryuk, among other Kings propose to take to the sky again. Gale is a bit apprehensive about this, but Meivas is on board, getting into the fire pit and letting Uul fill it with oil from the war carraige. The fire is too uncontrolled and Gale messes up during the amplification of the updraft, sending flames too high up to the sails and burning them though, leaving the ship dead in the water.
HOBGOBLIN WAR SHIP:
With nothing to do, the group takes a moment to collect themselves:
Uul tends to the now undead Saramir.
Upset about the loss of his brother Odi sulks, but Budrash cheers him up.
Ryuk follows an upset Gale into her cabin and tries to tell her that everything is going to be ok, but ends up having sex with her to make her feel better.
4-Chains climbs up the mast to be alone too, He kicks Spotter out of his position after bickering with him.
Four Chains then sees:
In the distance, 2 ships appear as the sun sets.
He leans over to call down, but falls off of the crowsnest passed Spotter and on to the ground.
Spotter climbs up just as two canonball vollies are shot, barely missing the ship.
Spotter caws down: "I've never seen ships like that before! They are Tabaxi ships but look like they are barely afloat!"
The two ships approach gale's grace, they can hear chanting from afar to a beat.
They fire 1d20 canons into the ship.
Selasi casts Fog Cloud on the sip, shrouding it in fog but obscuring the view from inside out as well.
The Ga canons in the front ship fire upon the unprotected ship, hitting a few times while the other Ga ship has critical failures and fires from exploded canons cause the ship to stop.
A canonball hits Gale's Grace, nearly hitting Budrash but he makes a quick dodge. the impact is not heard or noticed by Gale or Ryuk who were too busy having sex and Ryuk literally reached climax as the canonball hit the ship.
Four-Chains gets back on his shadow feet and climbs up the mast, pulling out his Ebony Bow and firing it to hit two Ga soldiers.
Four-Chains does not see Ga-Trell jump off of the incoming Ga boat and onto the crows nest, attacking him and eventuall knocking him off of the crows nest.

GA-TRELL: A tall, red furred, red skinned Hobgoblin in elegantly designed armor with a top knot with a massive club slung over his shoulder, atop the Crowsnest.
HP: 70 AC: 18 ATK: 1d10 x 3 Spiked Club

When the Ga ship hits Gale's Grace, Ryuk and Uul are knocked off of the ship and into the water. Uul is grabbed underwater by a Saughin, Ryuk sees that Gale's Grace is surrounded by still floating Saughin. Ryuk swims to save Uul, but is mesmerized when Uul casts Hypnotic pattern on all of the saughin, freeing himself from the grip. Ryuk begins to drown, but not before Uul casts flight on himself and flies up and out of the water, throwing Ryuk to the deck.
Ryuk immediatly engages with a Ga soldier who leaves a heavy gash on Ryuk's chest. Ryuk doubles back to get his clothing on in Gale's room but is followed.
As soon as Uul and Ryuk fly out of the water, Selasi trips and falls off of the boat and into the water to see the Sauhgin and in the distance, a massive shadowy figure pull down and destroy the back Ga ship. Anticipating Grolovacri, Selasi casts greater invisibility on herself and waits to face the creature.
Ga-Trell engages with Uul who fails to convince him that he is a Ky soldier. Budrash lands a few hits on Trell, but when Trell focuses his attacks on Uul, he missteps and falls overboard.
Meanwhile, 2 Ga soldiers team up on Four-Chains who tries to WWE slam them multiple times with his shadow form but fails, so he resorts to shooting at them but he snaps his bowstring.
Uul searches for Saramir who he sees gets stabbed through the hand by a Ga soldier's Dagger. Uul casts Fantom Steed and rides over to slash at one Ga soldier with the Fenden Blade, distracting him so Saramir could finish him off with the Trident and pull the dagger from his hand, throwing it into the neck of the other Ga Soldier.
THE RETURN OF GROLOVACRI:
In the middle of the fight, lights start glowing in the water. EVERYWHERE.
As soon as Selasi sees GROLOVACRI rise from the water, she swims under it, channeling any and all elemental powers she has within her to release a devastating lightning attack that shocks the creature and kills every Saughin within a 200 foot distance, additionally shocking herself and passing out.

Wind starts picking up and Gale tries to fight it but can't.

Meivas gets stabbed through the chest by GROLOVACRI's tentacle and the ship's protective circle wears off as he's tossed aside.
GROLOVACRI rises, towering over everyone, summoning rain and lightning.
The Ga soldiers flee, one getting killed by Four-Chains, the other disengaging with Ryuk.
Budrash capitalizes on a Ga soldier's fear by running him though with a sword.
Ryuk Casts Blight on GROLOVACRI's eye, destroying the dead skin over its eye and revealing a new one that glows red, shining down on the ship as a hurricane is summoned.
They roll disadvantage on all attacks until the ship starts sinking.
GROLOVACRI raises its tentacles to attack.
Golovacri makes a direct impact on the War Carriage, crushing it when from the center, a massive ball of magic expands and light flashes, blinding everyone's sight as they all feel their bodies lifted up.

EVERYONE ROLL ACROBATICS CHECKS:
Sycamore has all of his stuff.
BUDRASH is all good and has all of his stuff.
Four-Chains only has his Heavy Crossbow
Selasi has nothing
Uul only has his Spellbook and his new Ky Robes.
Ryuk only has his Amulet of Most Wanting.
