Lush

Of the four known regions within Diorre, Lush is the least explored. Though knowledge of and contact between Citramarians and the other three regions has occurred, no man has ever returned from the heart of the untamed wilds of Lush.
Lush, located northwest of Citramaria, is nothing but utter wilderness for miles and miles. A green expanse stretches from coast to horizon and beyond. Though many can see clearly that the region is filled with unrelenting forest, no person has ever seen what lays further within. Countless have tried and each has never returned to report any findings or sightings of anything other than forest stretching for an eternity. Those that have set foot in the region say they've felt drawn to wander further into Lush's depths, driven by a subtle need to learn more about what untold secrets lie within the woodland. And each one also state that something felt off, like they had an innate sense that they did not belong nor were welcome. Reportedly, whatever wildlife that was encountered in the region acted strangely in comparison to wildlife in Citramaria. Many say they acted entirely aloof and openly avoided contact. Others claim the wildlife was aggressive. None of this is conclusive and most is hearsay.
The general consensus, however, is that some sort of curse rests upon Lush. Either the wilderness itself is content to simply exist without the intrusion of civilization, for no peoples in known history has managed to make a lasting settlement, or earth god himself has made Lush a safe haven from man. To this day, the mystery of Lush and what its forests contain serves as a mesmerizing allure to the bravest of adventurers as well as their graves.

Geography

Reports from explorers who've set foot on Lush's coast state that only thick, verdant forest covers the region in its entirety. No known major bodies of water, such as rivers or lakes, have been found. The canopy of Lush is so high that few manage to see what lies further into its interior. The few that managed to climb a tree state there is nothing but blue sky and green forest for miles.
It is said that on Citramaria's highest point one can spin around and catch a glimpse of each and every region surrounding it. Those that look towards Lush see nothing but green stretching on into the horizon. If there were any mountains, they must exist beyond the horizon.

Fauna & Flora

Due to the lack of exploration, few specimen of flora and fauna have been found. The few that have are reportedly similar, if not identical, to species found on Citramaria and other regions such as Dismuke and Karnavora. These specimen include common fauna such as deer, squirrels, bug and insects, birds, the occasional reptile, and other mammals. Basic flora includes various types of known flowers, grasses, and leafy plants such as ferns. Currently, there is only one type of tree found in Lush. The tree species seems to carry elements of several known kinds such as oak, maple, walnut, and others. This tree species is unique to Lush. Recently a species of bird found nowhere else in Diorre has been sighted in Lush. Many speculate that this species of bird is an ancestor to a now-extinct bird kind that once lived in Joliad.
Because of Lush's esoteric nature, rumors and legends tell of monsters and beasts of every shape, color, and size roaming within the unknown woodlands of Lush. Though these are likely just stories, there is no way to tell for certain.

Natural Resources

Lush's primary resource is wood what with its everlasting forest. Though samples of flora and fauna were studied over the course of numerous expeditions that barely pushed inwards, many are afraid to bring anything out of Lush for fear of rumored curses and wraths of an angry earth god. Only one brave entrepreneur attempted to begin a woodmill and logging service within Lush. Although the actual details of what happened are highly guarded by the family the businessman belonged to, most rumors have been accepted as general fact. All that is known is that it failed, and no businessman, however adventurous and brave, will likely ever attempt to set up shop in Lush.
