Within the Material Plane, a distant planet spins lazily on its axis. On its surface, people go about their daily lives, stressed and anxiety-ridden or lackadaisical and ambivalent. They search for some form of meaning in this place they call Diorre.   Is this meaning in Lush, where utter wilderness stretches for miles until it reaches the horizon and stretches for miles and miles beyond it? Where no man has gone and ever returned? Where the animal kingdom is the ruling force and no person can tame its scenery.   Is this meaning in Joliad, where man and metal exists and the dividing lines between have become blurred? Where stuffy skyscrapers and miles of metal and concrete dwellings stretch as far as the eye can see and no earth is found.   Is this meaning in Karnavora, where nature and man wrestle endlessly for control? Where the environment tries time and time again to drive civilization out and time and time again civilization barely stands, weathering the storm, and says "No."   Is this meaning in Dismuke, where the very building blocks of life have been mastered by the people of the land and twisted to fit their own fancy? Where man plays god, where the solution to making something work isn't to change tactics or approaches, but to simply change the thing itself.   Is this meaning in Citramaria, where flavors and cultures of these four extremes find themselves blended together into vibrant wilderness and harsh territory, in sprawling cities and lethargic countryside?   Or is this meaning in their friends and family? In the places they travel to and the adventures they find? Or is it found in the journey they had along the way to such places? Can the gods provide this meaning or must they find this meaning within themselves? This is their Whimsical Folly.
