Lenlit

A latticework of crisscrossed bronze and steel spires stretching high into the sky make up the primary composition of the city of Lenlit. Like many cities within Joliad, Lenlit is a center of industry and production. Nestled at the base of what was once thought to be a mountain ages ago, extensive mines creep deep into the crust of the earth to provide the iron ore that makes up the means for most of the city's production.   Lenlit is a coastal city with a very large harbor meant for imports and exports. Given this fact, the city is very rich in culture. Influenced by peoples from all over Diorre, the City of Irons is vibrant in many respects and open to all ways of thinking. The city itself is beautiful to behold. However, it is said that the view it offers from its towering skyline of bronze and steel is breathtaking. Supposedly one can see all of Citramaria from the tallest building in the city: the Spire of Endurance.   Though Lenlit offers many different commodities, especially the ones most can find in any city, its economy is dominated by the iron industry. However, there is no competition in said industry. The entirety of the iron industry falls under command of the one man in absolute power over the city's lifeblood and its inhabitants. Baron Iskander holds monopoly, and rule, over the city as is the custom of each settlement known in Joliad.

Government

The march of progress, production, innovation, and efficiency are absolute within Lenlit. So is the rule of Baron Iskander. As is custom in all known Joliad cities, Lenlit is dominated by the single industry of iron, and that said industry is monopolized by the Baron himself.   Though many might view the Barons as tyrants, Iskander is a man well liked among the populace of the city and the greater area of Citramaria. He is a man who embodies all of the qualities above; eager to find ways to best improve the qualities of life and work of his people. Charming, pleasant, and often idealistic, he's the most well known Baron of Joliad and the most liked.

Defences

Lenlit's most defensive aspect is its dizzying architecture. Spires span the skyline of the City of Irons in all shapes and sizes. There are numerous levels to the city, many of which are connected by a latticework of bridges and raised roads. It is noted that this is a common theme in architecture across the board with cities in Joliad.

Industry & Trade

Though Lenlit holds the usual businesses one might find in any city, it's primary means of economy (and biggest job provider) is its iron industry. Mines, smelters, forges, processing plants, smiths, shipyards, all of it all centered around the iron industry provide the life's blood of the city. Those in the heart of the city can afford to work the services of stores, restaurants, and the like. But world of those who live on the periphery revolves entirely around the iron industry.

Infrastructure

Complicated systems of cobbled streets and bridges span across the ground level of the City of Irons. Grand spires of bronze and steel rises up all over Lenlit's massive area. Shipyards, docks, and harbors stretch for miles along the coast of this glinting city during the day and light show of a settlement at night. Complex sewers run through the deepest parts of the city in order to remove the massive amounts of waste it puts out in a day. Mines of immense size line the stump of once was a singular mountain peak and processing plants accompanied by forges span their circumference.

Assets

Lenlit's primary asset is its huge stores of iron and its production ability with said iron. Were there ever a shortage of iron or a need to turn iron into something useful to aid others or the city itself, Lenlit would be able to produce hundreds of thousands in a day.

Guilds and Factions

The most prominent faction or guild is also the ruling one. This is Iskander Iron and Steel Works, or IISW, the monopoly holder over the iron industry in Lenlit.

History

Lenlit's history is murky at best. Most in Joliad care not for the past, but instead look towards the future and all that it may hold for them to accomplish. Historical records written by those in Joliad are few in number and the ones that supposedly detail the city's founding are not shared across the waters. All that's left are the few accounts of Citramarians who either traveled abroad or made a point to document their neighbors across the way.   What is known is that the city is much older than any of the current towns or cities within Citramaria. Though the sheer magnitude of Joliad's total population, their pension for invention and efficiency, and their absolute iron will of determination have been taken into account, it's actually believed with good reason that the stump of a mountain the city of Lenlit rests on was entirely removed long before the technology to do so existed. Whether Lenlitans know how ancestors did it or refuse say remains a mystery to this day.

Architecture

Buildings made of bronze and steel, colored various colors of the spectrum, shoot up into the sky in great spires. Cobbled bridges and roads interconnect the various levels and elevations of the city proper. From above, it appears as a mess of crisscrossing roadwork.

Geography

Little of Lenlit's geography can be inferred simply by looking at the city. The city itself has long overtaken its surrounding location and has since done what it will with the geography. All that remains is stone, steel, and glass. A sprawling coastline provides a base for the harbors, docks, and shipyards of the city's expansive trade system. A truncated mountain is assumed to be at the center of the city where a proud peak once stood tall. The only dirt, grass, and foliage found in the area is outside the city limits and even that is sparse, if it's even real.

Natural Resources

Iron and coastline make up the bulk of it's natural resources. If there were any others, it is assumed that they have been consumed long, long ago.
