Night of The Stars

"All the moons are thriving and the sky is clear, what a brilliant omen for the most spectacular of nights"
Festival of Night is a festival in The Celetari Region. It is held on the longest night of the year and is seen as a time to celebrate and tell stories about the constellations above.     Celebrations are held all over Celetarii, with the biggest being in Celtouma. There are often many dream plays, street bands, and lots of street food being served. There is a saying that the celebrations in Celetarii are the best during a Shenram or Sutuon rule.

Events

Within the festival there are many events and stalls, some organised by the people and some the government.

Music and Stories

Music plays a huge part in the festival, with traditional Celetarii bands often playing. The bands often accompany storytellers, whether they use the powers of dream magic or not. The instruments the band uses usually change to reflect the time of day in the story.
The stories often told in the festival are usual myths and legends about the constellations, but not always. The performances are very popular with the attendees.
During the festival, none of the theatres in Celtouma hold paid performances, instead most of the performers take to the streets of Celtouma, and the theatres that do host events often use open air stages with free entry.
During a Shenram rule, funding towards official performances is often increased.

Food

The food served at the festival is often on skewers or wrapped in leaves, something that can easily be eaten on the move. The food is freshly prepared for the customer with meat and food often caught or gathered the same day.
Often the stalls serve Festival-exclusive items, which is usually common Celetarii street food but with extra decorations or made slightly differently.
Food stalls will sometimes sell ingredients to those who intend to make food offerings or star-bind during the solstice.
