Letter from Ellas Lantaththar to Wild Cards

Wild Cards,   Construction is a bit behind, but for good reason. The civil war to the north was getting a bit out of hand, and both forces found themselves fighting each other and a new enemy nearby. Some large plant “problem” known as blights began to spread out of some dark part of the forest. The Elder is of the opinion that an old powerful Hag from the Feywild was able to plant a seed that has corrupted a passing between the Material Plane and the two reflection planes, the Feywild and Shadowfell – of course.   As awful as it has been, it became a common enemy for the warring leonins and has put an unstable truce between them as they have teamed up to fight this Blight issue. The elder has lent some of our forces stationed at the Keep as well as druids who were assisting in construction and so this is why the building Work is delayed.   However, we are sure we are going to finish soon – and it is still years ahead of schedule if we were relying on doing this without the Aid of the druids.   So there is no real profits to report, or taxes – and I can have the General report on the military numbers if you were so inclined to get into the micro-managing of the happenings here. Which, I don’t think is too necessary at this time and may Lead them to believe you are doubting their Work. As far as I can tell the Elder seems to trust this General and so that is my advice.   Since none of you have given me any funds to begin building your properties, except for Barlo, I have made the executive decision to clear your properties and lease them for farmland which will bring in some funds. When they are profitable I can have them put into the community account, a personal account (if you get one), or use the Port System to have the funds available for you. Just let me know.   Barlo, the Hotel has the lower floor, but to do two stories and the furnishings that will require more funds.   I should note that there seems to be a bit of a slow change to the naming of the area which has long been known as River’s Keep, but since many have come to call the new reconstructed keep as Wild Card Keep there was a bit of Confusion so some have started to call this community Riverskept.   The Elder has introduced to me to many who can assist in our efforts, including those who work this Port System for communications and cargo. I had a few connections from my sailing days as well, so this is a reliable way to communicate. Just find one of their kiosks or locations at a port to reply, or use whatever spell or method you choose.   as for the rest of the construction, we have some housing being built and some other temporary farms. There is a General Story with a large area that fills up with various market goods and vendors. Jeets has started work on their guildhall which will be helpful for running various civic activities we don't or can't have in the Keep. It will also be a meeting place for various guilds in the area and not just for adventurers. The Elder is having an armory built behind the keep which will have some other purposes for the Vale she said. They also have a fishery, a lumber mill and an iron mine in the local areas which has brought in different workers and income.   We are not making any profits, but I have secured a bit of coin for you out of the accounting, this 5 platinum is just the start though.   The final note is that we still have the Teleportation Circle in the basement hidden under the bed of what was Jacoby's bedroom study. We have a guard at the basement, due to this. Would you prefer to keep the circle unmolested so you are able to use it? Or should we have it destroyed?   I have taken care of all accounts with the Mercantile Company to allow for all the transactions which means you can send a letter through them in response or use any magical means at your disposal.   Ellas Lantaththar
