The Telling

History

The Telling ritual is intended to open the mind and heart of the storyteller to show the raw truth.  Untainted by their unconscious defenses.  Unfortunately this can mean reliving their darkest experiences only to be recorded forever in the tomes of the library.

Execution

The storyteller is taken to the great labyrinth in the gardens of the Ivory Library .  After the initiation ritual they are bound to a spell as they enter the trees.  The spell gets stronger the more time is spent in the forest where it can find out some of their defenses.  A loved one or a treasure is found to get them to lower the defenses. as they pass 3 gate built with riddles.finally after they unlock their defenses they can retell their story by reliving it one more time as a spectator in their own mind.

Participants

The Chief Librarian and 2 of their trusted chroniclers are required though its not uncommon for friends to witness, especially if it means the storyteller may become one of the honored librarians.
