Knights of the Glen

Knights of the Glen are an Order that was created after the war of the first stone to protect people from the rise of evil and tyranny ever again.

Structure

Each of the 5 towers in the glen valley historically had their own detachment led by a Steward who usually was a listed officer in the ranking below. These detachments showed their rank with the long tunics below they wore over their armor. Each detachment had a color that corresponded with their tower to denote their origin such as in the below example Red for Garnet Keep. Over time numbers were lost and this duty fell to the knights themselves needing not the extra layers of leadership with in the order. Initiates must prove themselves worthy before becoming Squires. This is accompanied by the swearing of an oath to abide by an ancient code, protecting the innocent, upholding their word, acting honorably as representatives of the order and working towards peace before violence. Knights are veterans in the order who have shown skill in the saddle as well as on foot and where they can also lead strategically. Those tactical leaders are well respected as sergeants alongside the knights. It is said a strong Sergeant Major is second only to the will of the Knightlord himself.
Now the organization operates only from within the Celestine Tower  and even then only the lower floors.  At one point a Knights Council was setup and led by a Grand Marshall and 5 High Marshals, one from each tower but after the rise of trade and the knights falling into antiquity they pulled everything back to one location and disolving any officer rank above Marshal.  They reserve these for purely scholar, religious and dipolmacy subject matter experts of the order.

History

Year 10 after the war of the stone they formed and began creating to 5 towers in the Glenn Valley. The Ivory Library, The Celestine Tower, Garnet Keep, Jade Temple and Obsidian Fortress.  Over time the numbers have shrunk, with only the Celestine Tower left occupied. The other towers were abandoned, given control to others or as with Garnet Keep taken by force.
