Advanced Empathy

This ability is a minor version of telepathy that most of the same properties, except that the reading is simply “intent” and the distance is curtailed significantly. The magical person will know if their target is good or evil, lying or truthful, sad or happy, despite what they are portraying. Instead of having the option of reaching out for miles to “read someone,” this ability is limited to roughly one football field at maximum mastery. This ability is also doubled as a “locator” ability, since the magical person can effectively search a building with their mind for a known target, and without any reading can conclude that they either are not in the building or are dead inside.
