Ellera Geiss is a wealthy noble from Sharing, related to royal families in Sharpwing and Marino. Her grandmother Charon (“Sharon”) Geiss was a fiercely protective matriarch and forced the boys of her family to take the Geiss family name. As a result, there are a number of Geiss families throughout Sharing, Ollucz, and Wes.
Ellera was a child of leisure, born into the notion that her family would rule Sharing and High Shally for all time. Her family’s wealth stemmed mostly from massive Berite mining and recovery operations in Sallot and Felsdpar. But the Tapestry Berite find and subsequent market collapse of the 1520’s threw that family business into chaos, and through her twenties, Ellera suddenly learned that she needed a new way to keep her family in power.
Ellera’s hereditary ruthlessness blossomed under this pressure, and over the next thirty years she matured into a fierce and beloved a matriarch in the style of her grandmother Charon. She now controls a huge segment of the shipping and mining in Sharing and parts north, through an intricate network powered by gold and blood. Her influence continues spreading to points east, even as far as Tenpin.
The reclamation of Dearworth presents a new set of challenges and opportunities for the Berona and her children. And this time she is ready.
