Doorany Fancelmay is a mysterious figure. No one knows for sure their origin, their gender, or even the sound of their voice. There is no “Fancelmay” family in Dearworth, and the name sounds more like something a foreigner would invent, in a poor attempt to blend in.   Doorany Fancelmay travels with a small band of merchants who trade valuable goods and machinery throughout Little Shally. They are never seen out of the fog, and they seem to travel entirely by land and water, never by air.   In truth, Fancelmay is a Curian Darkmaster, uncomfortable even in light fog, and wholly unable to tolerate broad daylight, even on an overcast day. They wear a heavy mask not only for anonymity, but for protection from sunlight.   Fancelmay was left behind in Little Shally when their household decided to move south sometime in the 1530's, as the receding fog crippled their ability to travel the Dearworth Valley in secret. Doorany decided to stay behind and walk among the lightfeet, and in so doing, has created a well-connected network of city traders and exiled Curians that spans the Valley.   While some other Curians live among the citizens of Dearworth, none are so mysterious nor so infamous as Doorany Fancelmay. Their entire image seems carefully cultivated to maximize their notoriety. This image has value in trade negotiations, as Fancelmay’s informal network of merchants carries on the Curian tradition of trading in deep-fog artifacts and negotiating back-channel political deals.
