"So you wanna know about me eh? Well the first thing you should know, I'm not like you bright-eyed adventurers, wanderers and merc's here to fight for fame, glory, home and country... The names Anima, and you're here cause you wanna be, I'm here cause I have to be.
Well it was either this or 10 years in the mines, either way it sucks so I may as well take the option that gives me some freedom eh? If you couldn't guess by now, I'm a prisoner; robbed some things, hurt some people, been a general pain in the ass to the Empire for a long time now so you can bet your ass they were glad to be rid of me, and sorry to say you're the ones who are stuck with me now.
I get you may have some... Reservations about working with me, but when you see our skills you'll come to find me a very welcome ally.
Huh? We? Oh yeah, I'm a Medium, I borrow the power of the spirits, I give them a bit of my body and they give me some power of theirs, gotta be careful though, give them an inch and they tend to take a mile, s'how I got caught ya see.
It's a funny story actually, I borrowed the power of an ancient thief to rob a museum of some relics, but to stop myself setting off a trap in there I had to use my powers to give the spirit more control than normal and well... After that I don't really remember, just that I wound-up in a cell with a brand new stupid hat, cape, three-piece suit, the whole shebang, and a whole lotta guards staring at me dumbfounded.
I guess this is the part where you ask 'but Anima, what does this mean for us?', well the spirits are mighty generous you see, there's a lot of them, all with unique powers, skills, all sorts of ways to bring the pain and I can access the whole lotta them. You need a lock breaking? I got you covered, you need some divine magics to patch up those nasty goblin dog bites? I can do my part, you need someone to stand in front and take blows for ya? Just give me some banded mail and a shield and I'm set, you find this cool new weapon but nobody can use it? Just throw it my way, I got it.
I guess I'd be classed as an 'anomaly' in that sense, I can do anything, s'why I was such a pain to the Empire but why they let me come here, no sense giving up such a valuable and, most importantly, RARE asset, not many people can become a Medium you know? It requires that... Special spiritual touch. Now, I may not be as good as someone more dedicated to the part mind you, but if you need it, I can bring it.
