The Old Gods

The Old Gods are ancient and shrouded in mystery, their true nature and current status unknown. The Old Gods are believed to have created the world, but unlike the mortal deities, they never directly interacted with humans. Knowledge of their existence comes from ancient artwork depicting them interacting with mortals of antiquity. This intriguing lack of direct contact has led to three prominent theories about their fate:

1. The Demise/Sealing theory: One prevailing theory holds that the Old Gods may have somehow perished, despite their presumed immortality. Another version of this theory suggests that they may have been sealed away rather than having perished outright. This implies that their power was contained or locked away by some unknown force.


2. The Abandonment Theory: Another theory speculates that the Old Gods chose to abandon the world, though the motive for their departure remains a mystery. This theory suggests that these ancient beings, for reasons known only to them, have decided to sever their ties with the realm they once created.


3. The Observer Theory: The third theory suggests that the Old Gods still exist, but have chosen to withdraw from active involvement in the world. Instead, they assume a passive role, observing the natural course of the world without direct interference.
