Skuld

Skuld is a canine deity known for his role as the giver of good fortune and the bringer of justice. Born as a jackal Fera with a twisted horn, Skuld was marked to become an oracle due to his wasting disease and a twisted horn. He adopted a demonic appearance as the god of karma, with crimson fur, blackened eyes, and bony spikes. Skuld's intelligence and intuition earned him the nickname "Lucky" among his peers.   As Skuld grew older, his condition worsened, but he remained determined to use his gift to help his people. He rallied his people against a neighboring tribe of Fera, and the battle was won, and Skuld was hailed as a hero. His legend grew, and his power grew. Skuld's ascension to godhood occurred around the same time as Kybaleen's, leading to a rivalry between them to determine the patron of the Fera.   Kybaleen's followers convinced the population that Skuld was a demon disguised as a jackal, leading to rumors and lies about him. Skuld vowed to become a spirit of vengeance, which turned into karma and turned into luck. Despite being shunned, Skuld maintains a following and continues to use his power to influence outcomes. His rivalry with Kybaleen has made him an outsider among the gods, but his followers remain loyal.

Physical Description

Body Features

Skuld was born as a jackal Fera with a twisted horn, known as the horn of mystics. This horn was considered a mark of destiny, and, combined with the wasting disease he developed at a young age, he was marked to become an oracle. In his mortal form, Skuld had black and brown fur, black hair, and amber eyes.   However, after his ascension to godhood, Skuld chose to take on a fearsome form as the god of karma. He adopted a demonic appearance, still retaining his jackal Fera form but with crimson fur, blackened eyes featuring glowing yellow irises, and no hair. He shed his twisted horn in this form, but bony spikes now protrude from his elbows and long, vicious claws extend from his fingers, adding to his menacing appearance.

Personal history

Skuld was born into the jackal tribe of Fera with a wasting disease and a twisted horn, which were seen as signs that he was destined to become an oracle. Despite his physical challenges, Skuld showed remarkable intelligence and intuition from a young age. He had an uncanny ability to predict events and foresee potential outcomes, and his keen insight and intuition earned him the nickname "Lucky" among his peers.   As Skuld grew older, his condition worsened, and his tribe feared that he would not live to fulfill his destiny. However, Skuld remained determined to use his gift to help his people. He spent long hours in meditation and contemplation, honing his abilities and seeking guidance from the spirits.   One day, Skuld's tribe was faced with a dire threat: a neighboring tribe of Fera had declared war on them, and they were outnumbered and outmatched. Despite the odds, Skuld remained confident in his ability to guide his people to victory. He rallied his people, inspiring them with tales of past victories and the power of their tribe's spirit. As the battle raged on, Skuld's predictions proved true. The enemy tribe made crucial mistakes, allowing the Fera to gain the upper hand. In the end, the battle was won, and Skuld was hailed as a hero by his people.   From that day on, Skuld's legend only grew. His tribe came to see him not only as a wise counselor but as a symbol of luck and karma. His name became synonymous with good fortune, and his followers began to pray to him for guidance and blessings. As Skuld's cult of followers grew, so too did his power. His influence over the domains of karma and luck became undeniable, and shortly before the disease would've claimed his life, he ascended to godhood.   Skuld's ascension to godhood occurred around the same time as Kybaleen's, and there was a strong rivalry between them to determine which deity would become the patron of the Fera. Despite Skuld's considerable power, Kybaleen's followers successfully convinced much of the population that Skuld was a demon disguised as a jackal. They spread rumors and lies about him, painting him as a malevolent entity that sought to bring ruin to their tribe.   As a result, many turned away from Skuld and began worshipping Kybaleen as the patron deity. Skuld was devastated by this turn of events and vowed to become a spirit of vengeance. Over time, vengeance turned into karma, and karma turned into luck. Although Skuld is seen as "the adversary" not only to Kybaleen's followers but to all followers of the Church of the Trinity, his name is still invoked as a curse against others.   Open worship of Skuld is not criminalized, but it is widely shunned. Therefore, his followers tend to worship in private, secluded locations. Despite this, Skuld has maintained enough of a following to retain his godhood, and he continues to use his power to influence the outcomes of events, ensuring that luck and karma favor those who seek his aid.   In the end, Skuld's rivalry with Kybaleen has made him an outsider among the gods, but his followers remain fiercely loyal, believing that he is a misunderstood deity who seeks to bring balance to a world that has turned against him.
