Ambros Valantion
Champion of the 26th Millenial
Ambros Valantion was born on the hive world of Dornath, a place where the cacophony of industry melded with the cries of the desperate. The son of a factory overseer, he was raised in the shadow of the Emperor’s light, instilled with the belief that the Imperium was a bastion of hope amidst the galaxy’s darkness. From a young age, he showed a proclivity for leadership and a fierce determination that marked him as different from his peers.
As a young man, Ambros was conscripted into the Emperor’s Children, drawn by the allure of glory and the promise of becoming more than a mere mortal. His induction into the ranks of the Astartes was transformative; he embraced the ideals of perfection and the pursuit of excellence that defined his chapter. He trained rigorously, learning the ways of war and the philosophy of striving for greater heights, embodying the legion’s creed.
Arriving late to iistvan system he was unable to fight his former brothers and perhaps more importantly was not present for the Maraviglia preventing the seed of corruption from entering his soul.
When the Horus Heresy truly erupted at the dropsite massacre Ambros found himself a mere sergeant at the time, among the ranks of the Emperor’s Children as they were thrust into the chaos of the Iistvan V betrayal. There, he faced his first test of mettle. The battle was a maelstrom of treachery and bloodshed, pitting brother against brother. In the heart of the conflict, Ambros emerged as a beacon of martial prowess, earning a fearsome reputation after slaying a captain from the 10th legion in single combat protecting his Commander’s life and taking the loyalist astartes’ head for his own.
The culmination of this victory earned him the rank of Champion of the 26th Millenial, a title that came with great honour but also the burden of leadership. His deeds resonated through the ranks, both inspiring his brethren and instilling fear in their enemies.
As the Emperor’s Children began their grim march on Terra, Ambros was entrusted with a pivotal task: advance ahead of the main force to raid worlds and weaken the loyalist defenses. He became the spearhead of a campaign that would leave devastation in its wake. His missions took him across various sectors, where he fought against pockets of shattered loyalist forces. With each clash, he gained the support of the Archite Palatines, a staunch group from the solar auxilia they marched into hails of fire with lasguns and knifes unyielding to anything but the most punishing assaults.
Amidst these campaigns, Ambros received a communication directly from Horus, the Warmaster himself. The message was simple yet charged with urgency: focus your efforts on the Semita system. Loyalist forces were consolidating around the fourth planet, transforming it into a bastion of resistance that threatened the march to Terra. The call to arms strengthened his resolve to crush the last vestiges of loyalty to the Emperor.
As Ambros prepared for the assault on the Semita system, he reflected on the path that had led him to this point. The thrill of battle was intoxicating, yet he couldn’t shake the feeling of being an instrument of something far darker than he had initially embraced. The clutches of a creature older than time itself threatened to wrap its talons around his battle group and corrupt any last vestige of the astartes to its will.
Steeled by ambition and tempered by doubt, Ambros Valantion set his sights on the fourth planet of the Semita system, ready to unleash the full might of the Emperor’s Children. He was a champion forged in the crucible of war, yet he stood at a crossroads between glory and damnation fighting for his primarch and soul in equal measure.
