Astreik

Geography

Astreik is a tranquil lake covering about 300 square acres in the lands of the Fendari. It's a perfect mirror of the stars at night, leading to the superstition that it allows access to the gods.

Localized Phenomena

Astreik is said to react to total solar eclipses. Its usually-serene waters roil and splash beyond their boundaries, and there have been rumors of Fendari seeing gods emerge during this chaos. Such rumors have never been confirmed, though the timing of supposed god-visits with these solar eclipses are enough to arouse suspicion.

History

Given the superstitions surrounding Astreik, several Fendari have attempted to reach its depths, where it's said they will find the entrance to the home of the gods. These Fendari were never seen again, and their bodies were never found.
Kochelva is said to have spent a lot of time around Astreik before beginning her pilgrimage across Deseran. Some say she was using its glassy surface to glean the secrets of the stars, others say she was convening with those stars that had not rejected her.
