Soldier's Apple

Tales of one-soldier rampages that devastate entire squads trace back to this fungus. Known as swordapple among experts, soldier apples grant short bursts of strength and vitality. Soldier apple fungus grows from rich guanos withing caverns and tunnels, absorbing nutrients from the detrious and clearing the immediate area of other plants and fungi. As a result, soldier apples always appear to grow in remote locations, attributing a divine reputation to its presence.

The soldier’s apple grants improved strength and vitality. As an action, you can eat a soldier’s apple and gain 10 temporary hit points, as well as a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls with weapon attacks you make using Strength.
