Ome Conjuring
Overview
Conjuring is a magic system that all Ome are born with. This magic system allows an ome to create any physical construct they can imagine; as long as the ome understands how the object functions. For example: If an ome is trying to conjure a sharp sword, they need to understand what makes something sharp and apply that knowledge to their construct. If their knowledge of sharpness is lacking, they would end up with a blunt sword construct.
The material used to create constructs is called Soul Fabric. Each ome's Soul Fabric is visually unique with different colouration and varying visual anomalies. The visuals of an individual's Soul Fabric changes as they age and becomes set in their adolescence. These visual distinctions act as signatures and an ome's Soul Fabric is recognizable to those who know the ome intimately.
The Soul Fabric is produced and stored in a liquid state in an exocrine gland attached to the heart of the ome. When an ome begins conjuring, the gland releases the Soul Fabric into the heart where it is imbued with magical strength. The Soul Fabric is then pumped with the blood from the heart to the brain where it is given shape by the ome's mind. Once the Soul Fabric is coded with it's shape, it again enters the blood stream as a liquid and travels to where the ome wills it to manifest. (For example, in their hand.) The Soul Fabric gathers where it is bidden and is pushed from the blood stream, through the sweat pores and forms into the construct the ome imagined in their mind when the Soul Fabric was coded. If an ome needs the construct to form faster at the given location, they can open their blood vessels directly to the air by cutting them open, removing the need for the Soul Fabric to travel through the pores. The Soul Fabric of their constructs is manipulated as the ome constructs the item in their mind. Once conjured, the construct is difficult to alter though it can be done with great practice.
The heart supplies the strength behind the conjuration and the brain shapes the construct. A passionate or heart focused caster can create very powerful constructs but they may not be well formed while a meticulous or brain focused caster can create very intricate constructs that have little power behind them. When conjuring, an ome must utilize both their passion and intellect to create the most potent constructs.
Limitations
Physical Organ
Soul Fabric is produced and stored in a liquid state in an exocrine gland attached to the heart of the ome. If that gland is damaged, the ome cannot excrete as much fabric thus creating smaller constructs and causes pain when attempting to create constructs. If the gland is removed, an ome's ability to conjure is removed with it.
Blood Flow
Soul Fabric travels through the blood stream. Therefore the speed of casting is directly linked to the speed of blood flow. There is travel time between the heart, the brain and where the ome wishes to conjure the construct. If blood is pumping faster, such as in a stressful or active situation, the conjuration will be produced more quickly. However in a calm scenario, the conjuration will take longer to travel throughout the body.
At rest, the conjuration can take up to 20 seconds to travel through the body. While active, that time can be reduced down to 10 seconds.

Familiarity
Once the Soul Fabric reaches the brain, the ome mentally codes it to form the object they wish to create. As discussed in the overview, an ome must understand the object they are trying to create. This understanding can come through practical experimentation or through study. The first time they attempt to create an object it will take longer as they have to work from scratch and build their "mental mold" for the object. The more familiar with the object, the faster it is to create it.
Coding a construct you have a mental mold for can be as short as a second whereas coding an object from scratch is a lengthy process. The time to code the construct from scratch can take anywhere from a few seconds to hours depending on the ome, their knowledge base and the complexity of the construct.
Visibility
While an ome is conjuring, you can see the glow of their fabric flow through their veins. The glow is the same colour as the Soul Fabric of that ome. The glow is clear in daylight and emanates enough light in the dark to read by.
Physics
All items are subject to gravity and follow the laws of physics. However the law of conservation of mass is fiddled with due to the magical nature of the material.
Culture
Since all ome can conjure, this magic is engrained in their lives. They can create the perfect tool for any scenario based on their needs and so have few permanent tools in their culture. The wealthy have more permanent tools to boast their wealth.
At a young age children are taught to create basic useful constructs such as:
- Basic utensils such as spoons and knives
- Forks require finer control over the constructs and thus come later in life as needed
- Bouncy ball for play
- Cudgel for protection
Taboos
It is taboo to cover up the chest and neck since these are the key areas that reveal conjuration is taking place. It is seen as suspicious to cover those areas.
Cutting into yourself to conjure constructs directly from the bloodstream is poorly regarded. It is seen as an unnatural shortcut since the ome's body has a natural means to conjure by means of emission through the pores.
