Helios

Helios is the sun and the third eye, the embodiment of knowledge and the ability to learn. The most popular patron of scholars, librarians, and wizards, Helios grants his devout focus, comprehension, and inspiration. Helios never frowns on anyone putting in honest effort, and never curses anyone to stupidity - anyone who seeks knowledge for knowledge's sake is worthy. Those who seek knowledge to dominate the world, or to find forbidden magical arts, are the exception: Helios provides knowledge, and also provides the wisdom to use that knowledge well and for the betterment of people.   Clerics of Helios can be found occasionally as teachers, but their divine powers are most useful on frontiers, recovering lost arts for good and preventing the retrieval of evil arts that should remain buried.   The symbology of Helios is that of the sun, which shines light on everything. In some places, aasimar who are gifted with a third eye upon the forehead are considered blessed by Helios himself, as the eye signifies wisdom and enlightenment.
