Frost Memory Cave

Written by Mels

Geography

Deep within the icy mountains lie a series of sloping cave tunnels locally known as Frost Memory Cave. The surrounding landscape of the cave system is a vast, frigid plain covered in snow, ice and slush. Inside the cave, rock is rarely seen as the ceiling icicles have dripped down to meet the floor, curving out the corners of the cave with smooth, shining walls.

Ecosystem

Due to the frigid temperatures, Frost Memory Cave is exceptionally cold at all times and inhospitable to creatures not well suited to the climate. Weather patterns are limited to snow, sleet and the occasional blizzard.

Localized Phenomena

The defining feature which gives Frost Memory Cave it's name are the objects suspended in the frozen walls. In all visible areas, a variety of objects can be seen within the walls including camping gear, weapons, creatures and everything in between. It is vastly unknown about how the structure was formed with so many items enclosed within as a frost giant clan known as The Frozen Brothers have occupied the space for centuries and do not willingly allow outside visitors into their home.

History

With an undocumented origin, The Frozen Brothers have called Frost Memory their cave for centuries, and guarded it jealously. IT is within their belief that everything buried within the ice is their birthright and that, deep within the frozen mountain lies an artifact which would uproot the Ordning and place them at the top of the giant pecking order, if only they could find it. Periodically, the Brothers face siege from an ancient white dragon who also calls the tundra her home by the name of Zelzryd the Glacial, who seeks to take the cave and its accompanying horde for her own.

Tourism

Due to the occupation of the cave by a frost giant clan, outsiders seldom get to visit and return.
