Nilo; God of Trade, Commerce and Charity
(Nilo) Symbol: A pair of golden scales on a bench with stacks of multicoloured coins.
Nilo is the counting god, his domains cover trade, commerce and acts of charity. He has a consistent following in the many marketplaces around the world, particularly in the bustling ports of the Cobalt Isles, Precipice city and the Auchen League. People look to him in times of financial strife and when deserving and when feeling generous Nilo may grant them a windfall. Nilo despises acts of greed and though his domains do not often allow direct acts he will influence markets to teach hard lessons.
Sects:
Cobaltian Sect: This sect enforces the beliefs of a fair trade. With many merchants and money houses having worshiping members the churches of The Cobalt Isles can have a surprising amount of influence over market behaviour.
Auchen Sect: This small but powerful sect is one of the most powerful organisations within the Auchen league. Focusing their teachings heavily on commerce being the single pathway to their survival, their followers tend to not care about the size of the profit margins. Preferring to ensure prosperous trade far into the future over short term gains, the Auchen Sect has been widely noted to be toiling silently at a significant secret project for decades.
Rezicathian Sect: This sect focuses more heavily on the charitable side of Nilo, it is the reason the church in precipice city is one of the most significant. A place of food, water and learning freely given, the Rezicathian sect grows rich off their exported desert artifacts and uses that to feed its people.
