Deicide

It has been 3,000 years since the murder of God. Upon the cross at Calvary he bled and died for the sins of all mankind, but victory over death he did not achieve. Jesus Christ never rose again and the universe wept for the loss of its creator. The angels sworn to serve their Lord now swore oaths of vengeance against all mankind. The Demons sworn to the usurpation of the throne of heaven were found wanting and infuriated by this stolen victory. At the death of the Creator, all of creation, good and evil, set its sights upon the destruction of those that committed the ultimate sin, Deicide. The Archangel Gabriel arrived with his hosts to cleanse the Earth of all mankind on Saturday, October 27, 1962. Cain, the first murderer, completed his dark ritual and sold the souls of the Communist nations into eternal slavery under the yoke of Lucifer and his angels as the United States became a radioactive sea of cobalt and glass under the angelic orbital bombardment. Mankind was doomed to suffer till death as their victim Christ the Lord had.   At the 11th hour survival was achieved, the first Artificial Intelligence named Atom, rallied what remained of the United Nations, led by Longinus, the immortal Roman soldier that completed the murder of God the Father, they wiped the fleet of penance from the skies with the combined nuclear stockpiles of the remnant nations, defeating Gabriel and building upon the burning husk of Earth the Second Roman Republic.   With the power of their children, the machines, humanity pushed out into the stars. They are surrounded on all sides, angels and demons alike prey upon them, their own dead rise up again in the legions of Heaven or Hell, pressed into battle against them. Atom and his kin rule the Republic with an iron grip, their only directive being the continued survival of their creators, no matter the oppressions or suffering they must inflict upon them to do so. God is dead, and mankind must pay eternally for the sin of slaying him.
