Defilar

Over three hundred years prior to this day, a desperate Selkie made a bargain with an unknown entity from beyond this world as humanity invaded the Isand Cluster. From this dealing, the Selkie gained a spell of untold power—power far beyond what he could hope to control. Hoping to remove them humans from his home, he prepared and cast the spell, only for the gales to kill him and surround the islands, forming a Great Storm that would trap Man and Ocean-kin within its eye.   Yet the humans within the storm survived, and went on to establish order. The Selkies, by contrast, fell into decline; in no small part from being slaughtered by the enraged humans. From this order, humanity has grown within the tempest, though it would always fear and revile the magic that trapped it. Spare for a collect few, whom would seek and lust after it.   A quarter century ago, one such individual terrorized the sea, wielding a pirate crew of a magnitude never before seen. From the terror caused by this event, the human government would collapse, and hundreds would perish. Yet this pirate and her crew would disappear soon afterwards without a trace.   Now humanity attempts to rebuild as a new order establishes itself. Though after seeing the failure of the old government, not all wish to see a new one enacted...
