Vow Against Fire
The Vow Against Fire
As spoken by Daeranon, High God of All Water, before the Ayn Auline in the Year 7740I, Daeranon, who was shaped by Te Vevutur's own hands from the first waters of creation, who has watched oceans birth worlds and seas cradle life into being, do hereby make this unbreakable vow. Let it be recorded in the depths of every ocean, whispered by every stream, remembered by every drop of rain that falls from this moment until the end of all things.
I have witnessed the corruption of my waters by the Black Fire. I have felt my seas scream as they turned to poison, watched my rivers run black with the essence of uncreation. I have seen things that should flow pure and life-giving transformed into carriers of death and madness. This perversion of the natural order ends now.
"The waves remember, and I am the waves. The tides record, and I am the tides. The depths hold truth, and I am the depths. What I vow today shall echo until the last star falls."
From this moment forward, let there be eternal and irreconcilable opposition between water and flame. Where fire seeks to corrupt, we shall purify. Where it seeks to destroy, we shall preserve. Where it seeks to chaos, we shall impose order. Every drop of water in every realm becomes my sentinel, my soldier, my unblinking eye watching for the first spark of corruption.
I hereby establish the Matrix of Water, a lattice of power that shall span all seas, all rivers, all lakes and streams. Through it, my will shall flow to the furthest reaches of creation. No body of water, from the mightiest ocean to the smallest dewdrop, shall exist outside my awareness. Let those who would corrupt my waters know that they face not mere elements, but the full measure of my divine wrath.
"By wave and tide, by ice and storm, by river and rain, I bind this vow into the very essence of water itself. What was once merely elemental becomes now eternal purpose."
To you, Aejeon, who dared unleash this abomination upon creation, know that your betrayal shall never be forgotten. Though you hide now in your exile, every drop of water that falls as rain upon your realm carries my judgment. Every river that flows through your lands whispers my condemnation. Every morning dew holds my unending opposition to your works.
To those who follow me, who draw power from the purity of water, hear now your sacred charge. You are no longer merely wielders of an element - you are guardians of an ideal. Let your magic flow as clean as mountain streams, as righteous as cleansing rain. Let no corruption touch your works, no chaos taint your purpose. The waters are now and forever a bulwark against the darkness.
This I swear by the First Waters from which I was born, by the tears of every sea creature that perished in the Black Fire's touch, by the very essence of my divine being. Let this vow be recorded in the Archives of Thiandalune, witnessed by the Ayn Auline, and carried to every corner of creation by the endless cycle of water itself. What I have spoken, let no power in any realm dare to unmake.
"And let the worlds themselves shudder at the weight of this oath, for it carries with it the full measure of water's eternal memory and my undying resolve."
