Table Rules

The rules listed below apply to any campaign being run in Deabros no matter which DM is running the campaign. The players will receive ONE warning regarding broken rules. If the issue is not fixed, the player will be removed from the game. All removals are discussed between co-DMs, if either can not support the continued play of a player, the player will be removed from play.

  1. Be respectful to everyone at the table.

  2. Player vs. Player is prohibited at this table. There have been too many issues in the past during sanctioned PVP events.

  3. The co-DMs have made, do make, and will always make mistakes. You may disagree with a ruling. We thank you for your input and will consider it. The current DM at the table has final say on the ruling and the table proceed if a ruling call is made. Follow up may occur AFTER session.

  4. Do not sabotage or work against the party.
    • Disagreements or minor, temporary breakaways from the party are fine. A pattern of combativeness, destructive behavior toward the Party indicates a problem. It will be addressed.

  5. Player-to-NPC and Player-to-Player romance is fine. All scenes leading to intimacy will fade to black prior to escalation.
    • All romantic bonds or efforts must be consensual between all parties at all times. If at any point someone no longer wants their tea, it ends.
    • If anyone is uncomfortable for any reason at the table, bring it up with a co-DM.

  6. Discord will be used as the primary means of communicating with the DMs and the other players. Please make sure that you respond to messages there.

  7. Your player agency is a top priority at this table. Players and DMs are not allowed to take away another player's agency without first coordinating with the player.
    • We ask that you design your character to fit into this world and into this party. If they do not we will try and work with you and suggest alternatives that you can do to make the character work. If that does not work we may ask you to consider a new character.

  8. If there are topics that you are uncomfortable with please let us know. If something comes up during the campaign and it makes you uncomfortable please message the current DM of the campaign so they can get the game off that topic. There is no judgement if a topic is off limits for you and we want everyone to feel comfortable so we would always rather you say something to us than just let it go.
    • Feel free to call for an in-game break and then speak with the DM on the side.

  9. Metagaming is 100% prohibited at this table. Metagaming includes:
    • extreme rules lawyering
    • player knowledge transferring excessively to their player character
    • inappropriately presentation through character of incredible detail of magical items, spells, D&D mechanics
    • breaking roleplay illusion in favor of mechanics
    • acting outside of the behavior of your character
    • extremely favoring tactics over character decisions.

  10. In order to standardize and streamline gameplay, dice rolls will be done through DNDBeyond or, if the system is fully up and running, through Foundry.

  11. In order to streamline combat gameplay, each player will have 2 minutes to complete their turn in its entirety. DM has discretion to allow additional time due to spell discussions, debate, and understanding of effects. KNOW WHAT YOU PLAN TO DO BEFORE YOUR TURN.

  12. Roleplay and creativity are highly encouraged. It is hard for us as DMs to work with one dimensional characters and the more you put in the more you will get out.

  13. If it is possible please give us adequate warning that you will not be at a session or that you will be late. We totally understand that emergencies happen, but when you are able to, please let us know as early as you can so we can make plans around you not being there or being late to the session.
    • If you no show 2 times without contacting anyone we reserve the right to remove you from the campaign.
    • If you cancel for 3 sessions total we also reserve the right to remove you from the campaign.
    • Do not make a habit of being late. Tardiness from time to time is understandable, but if it becomes a habit, we will address it with you in order to fix it. If it is not fixed, you will be removed from the game.

The final and most important rule is HAVE FUN.
