Additional Information

These are some additional things to keep in mind for the campaigns within Deabros and can be referenced at any time.   Leveling up
  • We are going to try XP based leveling up for the first campaign. This is subject to change.
Hit Points
  • Whenever you level and need to roll for hp, roll the dice and if the number is below half take half instead.
    • Example: You roll a d8 for HP when you level up and roll a 2. Take 4 instead.
  • For the first two levels you will automatically take the max HP you could roll.
Alignments
  • Alignment is not required for the campaigns, however players can give their character an alignment if they choose to. Keep in mind that it’ll be up to the Player who chooses to use this system to determine how it affects their play and character.
Encumbrance
  • Coins will not count towards a characters encumbrance.
Material Components
  • You will only be require to track expensive material components for spellcasting. Things like diamonds for revivify.
Flanking
  • Flanking is allowed, but it requires an attacker on either side of a creature to gain the flanking bonus. As long as there are two creatures on either side of the enemy, everyone around the creature within melee range will also benefit from the flanking bonus.
  • A ranged attacker can only gain the benefit of flanking if a melee attacker is on the opposite side from them.
  • A Flanking Bonus gives a character Advantage on their attack rolls.
DND 5E updates
  • During the course of the campaign it is likely that DND 5e will be updated and new unearthed arcana will be added. DNDbeyond does not do a good job of implementing unearthed arcana so do not plan to use any of the new rules until it has been integrated into DNDbeyond. If a player feels strongly about a new unearthed arcana being added it can be discussed with the DMs to see if it should be done and how.
