Warpfield Distortion

Between the Psionic Realms and the Arcane Realms, there's a field of chaotic, distorted interplay between arcane and psionic power. If the shielding of a vessel is inadequate while travelling through this region, the minds and bodies of the inhabitants can become permanently warped by the energies, resulting in a range of bizarre conditions, such as kalashtar, synad, daelkyr and kaorti.
Illithid are resistant or outright immune to most forms of Warpfield Distortion.
