A chronicle of the three great Ages of the world so far.
The Lucine Emperor Lyconius orders the death of Argenta the Silver, a powerful dragon who had prevented his army's passage into Bethe, and she is slain by a party of Lucine warriors and mages. In response, her mate Armadred the Golden vows to destroy the Lucine Empire.
The dwindling Lucine Empire collapses as its capital of Lucinium is burned by the raging dragon Armadred, and the remaining provinces either rebel or fall to foreign invasion. Armadred subsequently flies east, and succumbing to his grief and wounds, perishes in the Gravelands.
The Daphinite adventurer and philanthropist Quentin Pomeroy VIII dies of presumed natural causes. His funeral is scheduled to be held on August 25th at his family's castle in Liesson.
A small group of recent acquaintances, all on their way to the funeral of Quentin Pomeroy, begin investigating a series of strange thefts and occurrences on the Carmine Express, culminating in the discovery of a Fey Crossing in the train's caboose and a skirmish with the Eladrin bandit Grizmer.
