The Pact of the Seven

In the dawn of creation, when the universe was young and the gods were new, there existed a harmonious pantheon of five: Ranessa, the eternal mother; Silvan Ri, the protector of night and rivers; Lyss, the goddess of cold-hearted intelligence, beauty, and mathematics; Valorous, the warrior; and Brynus, the tempestuous storm god.

Centuries later, two beings of immense power emerged from the mortal realm: Vortex, a dark sorcerer consumed by ambition, and M'Nak, a brilliant mage seeking divine ascension. Seeking to elevate their status, they challenged the established order of the pantheon. A cosmic war erupted, tearing the celestial realm asunder. Vortex and M'Nak, fueled by their insatiable hunger for power, clashed with the existing deities. Brynus, swayed by promises of greater power, joined their side, betraying his divine kin.

Ranessa, the eternal mother, witnessed the chaos with sorrow. She could not bear to see her children wage war against each other. In a moment of divine intervention, she brokered a peace, a celestial compact that would forever alter the balance of power. The terms of the peace were harsh: Vortex and M'Nak would be granted divine status, but they would be exiled to their own celestial domains. Brynus, realizing the error of his ways, was forgiven but forever bound to his remorse. The remaining three deities, Silvan Ri, Valorous, and Lyss, would continue to govern the mortal realm, each taking turns as the supreme ruler, while Ranessa remained the eternal matriarch, overseeing the cosmos.

The new order of the pantheon was as follows:
Lyss: During the months of Dwarven Deepfrost, Elven Bloomreach, and Norse Thunderforge, Lyss would hold the reins of power. Her reign would be marked by a focus on knowledge, strategy, and the preservation of order.

Valorous: Following Lyss's reign, Valorous would ascend to the throne for the next three months. His period would be characterized by valor, courage, and the pursuit of glory.

Brynus: The tempestuous Brynus would then assume control, bringing with him a period of change, renewal, and sometimes, chaos. His reign would encompass the months of Reman Solaris, Emerald Folk Greenleaf, and Gnomish Sparklelight.

M'Nak: The enigmatic M'Nak would follow, bringing his wisdom and creativity to the fore. His reign would be marked by a focus on knowledge, magic, and the arts.

Vortex: The dark lord would reign during the months of Greek Olympiad, Dwarven Stoneforge, and Elven Wildfire. His period would be marked by trials and tribulations, but also opportunities for growth and transformation.

Silvan Ri: Finally, Silvan Ri would return to the throne, bringing a period of peace, protection, and renewal. Her reign would encompass the months of Norse Bloodmoon, Reman Harvestum, and Emerald Folk Moonfire.

Ranessa, the eternal mother, would oversee the entire cycle, ensuring balance and harmony within the pantheon. She would maintain a veto power, ensuring that the other six deities did not overstep their bounds or cause undue harm to the mortal realm.
