Kenear

The story of Kenear begins in a small Elven village called Shylenshara, a four days' ride from the village Eshanasera, while being close enough to receive regular caravans. As the fates would have it, it was on a day when the merchants arrived in several caravans that Kenear would discover his calling to be a mage. At high sun, after an especially exhausting training session Kenear went to browse the caravan merchants' wares. After procuring a few items that his family would need, a miracle from the Elven gods appeared in the form of a display of magic. Suddenly, a burst of magic caused much confusion and some panic in his fellow townspeople. For no more than a minute, small balls of fire fell harmlessly around him. Following this event, a wanderer approached him to offer the chance to learn to control his magic and wield it properly. As he finished speaking Kenear's parents had arrived worried due to the commotion. Kenear spoke with his family about the opportunity presented to him. His father then berated him about thinking of not holding up his family's legacy as swordsmen going back six generations. His mother calmly explained to her husband that Kenear's fate was not to be a swordsman, rather, due to the display of magic, he was bound to be a mage. Thinking upon this, his father allowed him to go, but only if he would try to become a mage whose tales become the stories of legend. His mother gave Kenear his fallen brother's sword as a sign of her blessing, and to honor his brother, Varis, by fulfilling his wish that Kenear goes on to achieve greatness. The next day at dawn, the wandering mage left with Kenear to go to Myrefall's mage college. Here Kenear would learn the proper control of his abilities, and further magical knowledge.
