Emerald Folk Culture
Emerald Folk Culture (1.2)
The Emerald Folk hail from Ireland, Wales, England, Scotland, Iceland, Greenland, and northwestern Europe from Earth in the years 800 AD to 1400 AD. They have been in the Dawn Lands for approximately 1600 years. During this time, they have established trade relationships with the Elves, Greeks, Norse, and Dwarves. While some areas of Emerald Folk society are more technologically advanced than others, all have begun to explore and utilize magic to varying degrees. Despite their long residence in Shiandria, the Emerald Folk remain a culturally diverse people due to the significant variations in their original cultures and the times at which they arrived. The structure of the portal they traveled through in the far North still exists, but its ability to transport individuals has diminished significantly. In fact, as far as anyone knows, the last successful transport occurred over a century ago. The Emerald Folk primarily settled in the northwestern region of the continent, frequently encountering conflict with the Norse. Their most significant trading partners are the Dwarves and the Greeks, although trade with the Norse occurs when they are not engaged in conflict. The political and cultural structures of the Emerald Folk exhibit considerable variation across their settlements, yet a shared ancestry provides a unifying thread.Restricted Classes
