The Bubble

Considered a myth by many and a truth by a few, the Bubble nonetheless exists out on Oceans somewhere, ever moving and ever shifting. The bubble is one of the resting places of the amorphous ones, the first of the gods, the parents of the divine gods we know today. Adrift in the ocean, floating on the surface and sinking below the bubble is hard to track. When a ship sees the bubble it is a large sphere of water that is slowly emerging from the ocean. In the center there is a large rocky core which seemingly holds the water around it forming a sphere about 1000 feet across that is locked to the stony core.
“I once sailed towards the bubble as it rose from the depths before me, with no time to avoid it I was sure we were about to sink. To my surprise we hit the edge taking water over the bow before we shifted and started to sail up its edge. We sailed over it and back down again with out ever really feeling like I was at risk of falling beyond except when we transitioned between the bubble and the ocean itself. It was an experience akin to none I’ve had before and none I’ve had since, i eagerly seek to find the bubble again and prove that it is truly a place out there and not just a myth as many think.” Captain Malor Drenk of the Sally Blue
None are fully sure as to what the sphere in the center of the bubble is. Some suspect its the heart of the amorphous one who rests here. Others dispute this theory, disputing the idea of amorphous ones completely and believe that this was created by Ioun or Zunnas as a place to study and do research when they still walked the material plane. If this were the case the wealth of knowledge that would be present in the study would be insane. Others think that the rocky core serves as a tuning fork to the plane of water allowing the planes to bleed together in this location.
All of these theories can be disputed in one way or another but what is known is that it’s sought by many sailors who want to learn what it is and wish to claim that they’ve sailed the bubble.
