Dorian is fiercely loyal to Lorena, not just because of his respect for her leadership but also due to his personal relationship with her family. Backstory

Dorian Calder grew up in the rough borderlands between The Reach and The Astorian Republic. As the youngest son of a poor farming family, he never had much, but he quickly learned how to survive. In his late teens, he took up a soldier’s life to escape poverty, and through grit and determination, he eventually became part of the local guard. It was there that he met Micah Hawthorne, Lorena’s younger brother, while stationed on a patrol near the Hawthorne family's land. The two struck up a friendship that soon blossomed into a romance.
Lorena recognized Dorian's skills and fierce loyalty, eventually bringing him into her guard. As his relationship with Micah deepened, Dorian’s bond with Lorena and her family grew stronger. He has proven his loyalty time and again through his willingness to follow Lorena’s every command, no matter the moral implications.

Quirks

Dorian always carries a small silver ring on a chain around his neck, a gift from Micah, which he touches when he’s deep in thought or needs reassurance.
