Searing Stick

These are vital tool of the Menders, whom use it to cauterize bleeding wounds. They are usually about two feet long, with one side tapering down to a thinner diameter. Typically they are made of metal, usually iron or copper, but a wooden stick can be used in a pinch, though these are less efficient for obvious reasons.   To use, the thinner side of the stick is placed into a fire, or the hot burning embers of Burning Stone until it is hot enough to burn. The heated end is then placed against the wound to burn the bleeding area shut.   While traditionally used as a medical tool, they have also been used as instruments of torture.
