Pouch Strap

A band of cloth or leather tied around the waist at the point where the pouch openings lay. The purpose of the strap is to keep the pouch closed when an individual wants to keep debris or water from getting into said pouch. Most often seen being worn by Kels due to their love of swimming. For obvious reasons, it's ill advised for a Daulka to wear a pouch strap when carrying eggs or newts, so such individuals refrain from activities that would necessitate the use of one.
Unlike pouch wraps, straps are seen as a sign of the individual being responsible, where as the wraps are typically a sign of an individual of having had their Pouch Cut .
