Glow stone

Glow stones are a special semi-precious stone that is clear in appearance, but glow brightly in the absence of light.  This light shines initially white, gradually turning yellow, then red as their charge fades.  Depending on the quality of the stone, the light they produce can last from a few minutes to several hours before needing to be recharged, either by exposure to sunlight or a source of intense heat.
They are highly sought after for larger dwellings, mines and other area were it is difficult for natural or torch light to reach into.  Unfortunately, the primary source of these stones is within the Spine Mountains, which are under the sole jurisdiction of the Zut, whom tightly control who gets their resources.
