Garlisk

One of the The Fallen that is similar to the Trollum in that they are made of stone, but are completely immobile with the exception of their heads and eyes.

Appearance

Garlisks initially appear to be small pillar or a tall rock in appearance, until their head is noticed. Unlike the Trollum, whom only have a vague impression of a face, the Garlisk's face is a bit more defined. This face usually mimics that of a Daulka's, but more beastial in overall appearance. Their eyes are yellow, which glow brightly when they are alerted to movement. Coloration wise, they are like the Trollum where they take on the color and texture of the stone that formed them.

Behavior

Garlisk are usually in a state of slumber, but are easily disturbed, their glowing eyes a telling sign of their alertness. Any sentient creaure that it's gaze catches are quickly encased in stone, which results in death by suffication. They make no exception what living being they cast into stone, for it is believed they are filled with jealousy of those that can move freely.

Counter measures

The best defense against an alert Garlisk is to hide if possible, or to freeze in place, only moving when it's gaze is elsewhere.
While their body can be destroyed if someone is strong or crafty enough, the spirit that formed it usually just binds itself to a new place, thus the destruction of said body provides temporary relief at best. A better solution is to completely obscure the Garlisk's sight, though it is not unheard of for a Garlisk to do this to itself if enough victims fall prey to it's gaze. In fact, a Garlisk's 'collection' of victims in it's line of sight are the best warning sign for those that are paying attention.

Habitat

Garlisks usually bind themselves in any suitiable rocky area, thus, predictably, are usually found in mountains, canyons and cave systems. It is understandably very troublesome if they bind themselves in a location that is heavily traveled.
