The Beginning
The story of the Beginning told to the Misfits by Esmeralda, a Half-Dragon Divine Touched sent to judge them and to give them knowledge to allow them to understand where how the civilisation of Bavo'sand became to be. She start at the beginning like all good stories should.
----
Before the Dark, there was just the Void, endless nothingness. Then the first light in the void was seen, and where the is Light there is no longer nothingness just darkness. The One was the first being in the cosmos just a a spark of light in the dark, the first and will probably be the last after all of us have passed on. He created the first spheres in that in the darkness, little candles of light in the mass of the darkness, each growing out of darkness as he directed spreading out across the cosmos. While The One sat in the centre of all it created, the streams of the cosmos flowing from and to the being of light.
Where there is light and dark, there is also shadows, cracks that are hidden, and as the One was born of light from beyond, a creature or maybe many creatures were created in the shadows, in the corners of the new cosmos. Where the One created, “The Many” destroyed and corrupted, it was forever hungry for that which “The Ones” created, nibbling and taking what it could for themselves.
Across the Spheres, physical worlds were created from elemental forces that coagulated and pulled together these were the building blocks of the cosmos, where the One pulled the raw energies no one bar it can comprehend. But over time the elemental planes and the physical planes spun round his home that place, which later would become known as Limbo.
The first intelligent creature outside of the One and the Many was those green-skinned Elves of the La’shen, they were the first and The One first mistake, not understanding that death needed to be part of the cycle of life. They were immortal, and over the years grew in arrogance. What happened with them is just a footnote in this story though, other than to say that arrogance force the One to focus on them, and not The Many, allowing that shadow to grow in many worlds, in the dark corners and the One had to burn so much of what it had created and loved.
That fight destroyed many places and many people, either The One wasn’t left untouched, and it had pieces ripped away from the whole. Some of that fell away, became embodiments of Emotions, Believes and Raw knowledge. Those became the beings your called the Divine Gods and Devils, they are not sides of one coin, but each half of the same side, while the Many are the true opposites. Some of these new beings took up arms against The Many and pushed them back to the true dark corners of the Cosmos, in many places beyond the boundaries that The One created to keep them out. But some small parts of the Many found places to hide within the Spheres of the One, and either now look to corrupt, to destroy and bring about what every the aims of themselves is.
The One gave the chose to each of the new divine beings a choose to become part of the whole again, or to keep being free and independent but each that chose that were given tasks to keep the whole safe. Those that people would call Devil’s in later years, were given the task of defending one of the last gates that the Many could use, So they live in unending war against the Demons of the Many. Using the power for the Souls of mortals as material to repair the crumbling wall and gate keeping them out of all other places.
While the Gods were given places to live themselves Celestia, Sanctum and Elsyium as well as many others, creating other warriors to root out those parts of the Many left within the spheres. Just like the One, the Divine gain power from believe of them by the Mortals, so many while hunting the Many created temples and cults across the worlds, to direct power towards themselves. Others saw that sometimes secrecy would gain more than open force, so stay hidden, with smaller groups of worshippers, who were more directly interacted with those that they worshipped.
So over the generations that followed, new peoples found homes on many worlds and the story of La’shen and the Dracothic civilisations begins.
