Skalds of Granite Keep tell stories of when the Storm Giant Gorunfir shattered the anvil of thunder (Hulkorin) when he struck it with the hammer of lightning (Thorfist). "Thorfist hammer of destruction broke the unbreakable Hulkorin, and the earth spit so wide, the wound will never heal. The sky's reflect the bloody wound which bleeds now until Ragnorak"

Manifestation

Forge Light. Due to the continent sized lake of lava there is a constant haze in the air making the stars less visible and days are never bright. This lake of lava began it flow only a few hundred years ago. Elves can remember when the skies were clear. The oldest of Dwarves may recall the difference from childhood. The closer one gets to the lava flow the brighter the glow in the sky, and the less visible the stars are. Being very close is to be in a perpetually red glowing sky.
