Dogerral Dragon Slaying Union
Specializing in young dragons and organizing mass hunts with dogs to run flightless dragons into ambushes. Excellent at locating nests. Organized as a union where all vested members share equally in all the profits from all adventures. Pensions are paid after 10 years of qualifying service, nominal monthly stipend and free room and board at their training guild manor in Treefall.
Hook and Chain Dragon Hunters
Specializing in flying dragons, their fee is quite enormous rarely afforded by small communities/villages. The hunters are not a part of a union however they receive commission pay that is just as extravagant as the companies contract prices. It is a very lucrative and dangerous company to work for. There are rumors of fellow hunters committing fratricide after a successful kill just to increase their own pay out. Though they have an excellent success rate, the most recent rumor has tainted their reputation greatly with the common folk. Allegedly they were hired by Mudwick to eliminate a rampaging Blue dragon that was terrorizing their southern fields. Mudwick's council/mayor agreed to supply 50 able bodied men to offset the cost. Not a single man returned, according to the Hook and Chain foreman, they were all killed during the operation. Rumors say that they were all killed in order to protect the guilds secrets.
The Red Axe Band
A small fanatical organization who employs some of the most powerful warriors and magic users in all of Oayr. They are focused on finding Joarg's mythical axe and using it to destroy all dragons. They like many humanoids see Dragons as the most dangerous threat to civilization. The Red Axe Band has allegedly slain 3 sentient dragons since their founding. All three were metallic dragons which are commonly known to be helpful to humanoids. This makes the Band a sometimes controversial organization as some people believe benevolent dragons present no danger.
The Order of the Red Line
Similar to the Red Axe Band the Order of the Red Line focus their attention on seeking out sentient dragons and eliminating them before they can die of natural causes and become undead dracoliches. They believe that Joarg's axe is a myth and do not waste time on searching for this artifact. They also support the protection of metallic dragons. They are openly hostile to the Red Axe band, who they see as murderers for profit.
