Athanasia

The Old Yarrow Road has a single destination, Athanasia, the city-nation of the deathless. The promise of peaceful eternity lures many pilgrims. You can see them trudging South from the Mynos plains up the steppes toward the Dragon Ayr Mountains. I followed the road once as a caravan guard. Many of the would be pilgrims fell prey to the hunger and madness of undeath before they reached the sanctuary of the Dead Blight. I will never forget the terror of the last night we camped before making it to the city. The numbers of zombies and skeletons would have washed over us like a wave.
