The Eidolons

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Eidolons are a race of extraterrestrial beings made of pure light, their flesh is nothing but ghost lights in the darkness of fluorescent tone, a tinctured commonly found in the abyss of the oceans wielded by fishes. They are immaterial ghosts that traverse the sky and space, often taking the form of aquatic life forms like fish or snakes, others as almost eldritch tentacles that come out of nowhere.

Genetics and Reproduction

They reproduce when the Synergy with their chosen vessel reaches a 400% of effectiveness, when the actions, wants and needs of the host and the Eidolon are so connected and intertwined that they are basically a single individual with a single goal. At that point the Eidolon once it finishes the task that it was ordered to accomplish they simply leave the body, taking away forever the powers of the individual. And, if the individual is so attached to his or her powers they can simply choose to have their minds and soul turned into another Eidolon and to continue the cycle, leaving behind a comatose body that shall never wake up.

Ecology and Habitats

They live where there are people, feeding on their feelings and memories. They don't need anything else to support themselves. They don't feel physical pain nor heat or cold. When they travel to other planets they live in a sort of stasis, numbed and only propelling themselves forward.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They feed on the feelings of others, being an empathic race they cannot stand much time without socialising, wich is their source of food.

They are immortal and perfect, they dont have a biological cycle.

Social Structure

They don't have a social structure, except their fleshy faithfulls, forming the Church of Chaos.

Domestication

It's basically impossible to domesticate an Eidolon. They are creatures of chaos, anarchy made manifest, no walls can stop them because they can phase through them, and no telekinetic hold can hinder them. They have basically free movement everywhere they go, turning invisible when they want at will.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

They chose individuals at seemingly random places and moments. You can make a pact with them, and they will grant you one of the five psychic powers, always random. As such, they shall turn you, a normal humanoid, into a psy beacon. You shall now start to develop your respective Awakened path, start to see ghosts and other psy related phenomena. And, most important of all, you shall start to attract such activity...

Average Intelligence

Superhuman. They can absorb knowledge, having total recall of their experiences and acquired knowledge. As such, they never forget anything, using their expanded conscience to turn normal eidetic memory into a veritable super power.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They are for all intents and purposes a psy race, and so they wield tremendous psychic powers, able to read minds, scan the future, manifest their feelings with synesthesia when dealing with other races, and so on. They can talk directly to the minds of others, sometimes even from kilometers away. They absorb knowledge and memories to better understand those around them. They float at will, at a maximum of 60 kilometers per hour. They are not very fast when considering that they travel planets this way, but they are clinically immortal, so they have all the time in the world.

They are Non Binary. Gender is only needed when one has a body and inner biology, not for pure beings of the stars.

Relationship Ideals

Theirs is a symbiotic or parasitic relationship with their host. They maybe want you only for your raw power, or your mind and knowledge; Or maybe they want you to do something for them, since they cannot interact normally with people. Whatever their agendas, they are a total mystery for the host, and the host can only hope to have synergy with the Eidolon, walking on eggshells and hoping that his needs and the needs of the being of light aligns itself with time and comprehension.
Or else the relationship can degenerate into a full posesion. Where the Eidolon completely takes over the body of the host and starts inhabiting it.
Or even worse, both minds clash so violently that they call upon, without any of them wanting it, a Demon of Chaos.

History

Nothing is known about these mysterious beings, except what they let us know. As such, their history is treated as gospel by some, and as a fabricated lie by others.
The story goes that they are the messengers of the so-called Gods of Chaos, being of immeasurable power trapped in another dimension. As such, they need the help of the faithful to cross to this side where they can use their power to usher in a utopia. They travel the galaxy without rest to find planets full of life where like minded people, psy tuned people, exist, and they can help them to achieve this goal.
One doubt that everyone has is that people, some people, can develop psychic power naturally, without their help. So, why do they have the need to recruit people without their powers? And, why is the origin of the natural occurring psy attuned individuals? Besides, they are immune to scrying, you cannot read their minds nor read their future.
The church of the Lord of Light, or Lord of Order, and its many derivative organizations opposes the Eidolons, their possessions, and any and all psychic phenomena. They hunt them with Inquisitors and Clerics, sometimes dispatching Angels to hunt down the Demons of Chaos that they usually bring into our world with their meddling.
The goal of the Church of Chaos is the invocation of one of the four gods of chaos, which the Eidolons are the messengers and servants of. Their task, in short, is the spread of their gospel and the augmentation of psy attuned people. Once they do it, the god of chaos shall rule the earth as it desires so, shape it as it sees fit, and destroy all those who oppose it.
