1 - 6 Rail Tale
General Summary
Mr. Black finishes the first batch of white H with a bang and produces a product of the highest quality. Shortly after they toast their accomplishment, Charlie is in a cab heading up Michigan Ave with a kilo of H in his backpack. He spends a pleseant evening keeping her company after she indulges in a small sample of the product. He learns a bit about her and spends his time divided between actually caring about his friend and casing her home. He also recieves a warning from the butler: hurt the lady and you will have an enemy. That being said, he hands Charlie a hefty envelope of cash.
Nora Jean shows up at HQ all in a huff, just screamin' and hollerin' and fit to be tied! Chris done took her ID and she's so mad she could spit nickels! Tommy calms her down and makes a deal - she sells H for the crew and he will get her ID back for her. She gives him money and he rents her a room for a month just off Halstead on 53rd.
That being handled, the crew takes Chris and travels a few blocks north to meet with Ronnie and Bennie of the Backyard Bulls at their soda shop hangout. The meeting goes well enough and things are looking good. It is just that the Bulls have one little stipulation, they need the Sinners to go steal a shipment of arms from the Ashland Park Railyard, stopping grounds of the Butcher Boys. If the Sinners do this, Bennie will call in whatever favors he has to get the crew the info they need on the Halsted Boys: their weakness.
The following night, a non-descript stolen panel truck crashes through the front gate of the Ashland Park Railyard and proceeds to cause some mayhem. One of the tires is punctured, but Tommy is positive he can handle it. Then, Charlie gets the idea to try to repair the truck...while Tommy is driving it around like a maniac. Cooler heads prevail and the crew decides to ditch the truck and go pick up the back up one they had arranged for just in case something like this happened.
Taking a more methodical approach, they track down the railcar in short order. After a few tense moments of trying to pick the lock to no avail, Sean shoots the lock and the crew springs into high gear. In under 10 minutes the unload the entire contents of the boxcar including guns, grenades, ammunition, crockpots, shoes and flour. Their escape is fairly smooth as they go out the east gate with the aid of one of the apparently infinite McGregor cousins.
Bennie is highly impressed and pleased with their efforts. He happily buys the crockpots and shoes from the crew. They go to O'Toole and talk to him about using the flour for some neighborhood thing to improve their relationship with the citizens and he says he will come up with something.
Tommy makes good with Stan by paying him for the abandoned truck.
